The Megadeth frontman continues to mention a new song and a forthcoming ‘top-secret project’. It really does sound intriguing. Get Download 2010 tickets here!

Dave Mustaine’s latest commentary on Megadeth’s latest project reads: “We finally finished the top secret project I have been working on and let’s just say that I have no doubt that it will be in just about every Heavy Metal music fans’ hands, one way or another, within the next year. I am so thankful for the turnaround of events and for Megadeth being able to be a part of your music life for so many, many years.

“From the moment we started working on this new track until just Monday, it was a nail-biting experience, but also from day one until its completion we were being challenged by the excitement of the project, keeping it up to the quality that they expect from us and that they deserve, all while trying to contain all of this good that has been happening for me and for Megs.”

Hmmm. Something we’ll all have within a year? Colour us interested, Mr Mustaine!

Bands confirmed for this year’s Download festival thus far: AC/DC, Aerosmith, Rage Against The Machine, Them Crooked Vultures, Deftones, Stone Temple Pilots, Bullet For My Valentine, 30 Seconds To Mars, Stone Sour, Wolfmother, Megadeth, Motorhead, Billy Idol, Lamb Of God, Volbeat, Five Finger Death Punch and many, many more to still be announced. Sounds like it may be something to do with the Big Four. I’m just guessing, I could be well off. Just the whole ‘I’m happy of the turnaround of events’ part gives off an odd signal to me..

shithawkkiller

I’m with Michael; bet the big four have been recording together.

Chuck-le

Big Four song would be epic … but i doubt it

The Real Ollie

Maybe he recorded a track with James, Lars and Ron. Somehow i doubt xD
I saw Ron, the original metallica bass player in a documentary. He’s chubby and has a moustache. Typical American

I’m guessing a new EP/album with Dave Ellefson?

I would be all for a new Megadeth Album!!

Felix Henderson

a big four super album :)

Dave On Vox And Lead

Tom Araya On Bass

Scott Ian On Guitar

Lars On Drums

We can only dream :)

megamaidenfan

Lars on drums? What the hell do you dream about? ><

Paul Bostaph on drums!

Dave on Lead/Vox

Hetfield on Rhythm

Ellefson on Bass (don't care there's no Anthrax in there tbh)

Could be about the book hes apparently writing?

my bet is on something to with the big four…really hope so :)

josh (killerjosh9)

megamaidenfan: lomardo is the current slayer drummer.

Johannes Scott

I was thinking of going for the big four since the only band that I hated was metallica.

But now after listening to this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sO7DulwSLU

which is Slayer’s Raining Blood 15 years before it. This is outright plagiarism. Who is gonna sue Slayer?? I’m really disgusted.

megamaidenfan

@josh (killerjosh9) I remembered when I sent it :P he’d be as good. But what I was getting at was, any of the other drummers but Lars.

Mustaine on lead/rhythm + vox

Trujillo on bass

Lombardo on drums or Charlie Benante

Ian on Rhythm or Kerry King(lead/rhythm)

win

Maybe it’s a new MD. 45 album?

Destroying Dignity

@Johannes Scott hmm i’ll admit thats pretty similar, not the same, but close. but can u prove that slayer have ever heard that before 1986?

Spirit Crusher

Johannes Scott is a douche that movie came out in 2002 so they ripped slayer off

@Destroying Dignity

In a case of theft the onus is on the guilty to provide the proof. But I do know that Flower Travellin Band toured the States before the formation of Slayer.

Now, if anyone takes this matter to court Slayer will be doomed, that is too certain.

But this is really really sad …
