Sadly dude, he DOES talk about Metallica a lot, and that’s because with Metallica’s recent return to success every second question to Mustaine seems to be about them now! If he didn’t reply you’d probably call him a dick for ignoring a ‘fair question’.
I personally think it was a fair enough answer, seeing as he has known hetfield more personally than most people outside Metallica, and it seems like she wanted him to say ‘i hate him’! Why can’t people just ask questions about Megadeth?

Interviewers need to stop asking Dave and James about each other. In a recent Guitar World interview James gave the same kind of answer Dave did. Stop ripping the scabs off of old wounds. If interviewers and other people never get over the rivalry then James and Dave won’t either. When Metallica was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Dave wasn’t there because he was on tour at the time but sent them congratulations. I think if you had been kicked out of Metallica you’d be bitter too.

Right, with that out of the way, I don’t hate Dave for stuff like this, because, as people have said, he’s only answering what he was asked. However, Dave is a big boy now and he could tell the interviewer that he doesn’t want to answer that question because it’s totally irrelevant due to being about a band he was in more than 25 years ago. We alll know he’s an outspoken kinda guy, but he doesn’t HAVE to answer every question, surely?
