Mustaine: “I Know What’s Right For Me And For Megadeth!”

Dave Mustaine has made mistakes over the years, of course, but while his former Metallica band mates have made a somewhat stilted and hesitant return to the musical style that made them famous, Megadeth have never been closer to or more comfortable with metal’s cutting edge. If 2007’s United Abominations – a great record by anyone’s standards – proved anything, it was that Dave Mustaine has learned from his mistakes and he knows what his fans want to hear, and on Endgame that’s all they’re going to hear.
“I made mistakes and we should’ve gone back towards the metal roots sooner,” he concedes. “It took time for us to find out how we’d lost our way, but right now the most important thing for me is that I’m happy. I can kind of agree that our last couple of records had something missing, because I was struggling. I had line-up problems, I had marital problems, I had physical problems with my back, but I’m a little wiser and a little older right now and I know what I can handle and I know what’s right and what’s not right for me and for Megadeth.”
Mustaine also spoke to us about Megadeth’s standing in the pantheon of metal, the story behind their awesome new opus ‘Endgame’ and the future of the band.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS ALBUM. BUY IT AND SUPPORT MEGADETH
(whether it just increases dave’s swollen ego or not, it deserves buying and to be in the charts if it’s good, as does any half-decent album. but at least endgame has a fair chance of entering billboard.)

it comes out in less than 2 weeks but i couldnt help myself and downloaded it… AMAZING!!!!!!!!

The album is all over Youtube, and it’s absolutely incredible. There are very few albums that I’ll get up and travel to a music store to pick up anymore because there’s so much crap coming out, but this one I’m definitely going to pick up. For me, this is the best release from an old school thrash metal band since 2008’s Formation of Damnation by Testament.
For those waiting until the album comes out, This Day We Fight! is insane.
