I love Mustaine and Megadeth are one of my all time favorite bands.. but i think he should show a bit of grace and stop exlpaining to us what we already know. I think pretty much everyone now knows the back story of Metallica/ Megadeth.. Now its time to let the riffs do the talking.

Im sure anyone else would have gone crazy or killed themselves watching their old band become as big as Metallica have.. Lets face it, Megadeth were ok in the 80’s.. but Metallica put out some of the best metal albums ever recorded in those years. Master of Puppets Vs So Far So good So What?

It’s easy to understand the mans grudge with Metallica since he basically did the hard work that established the band and launched them to stardom, and got none of the credit. You can see how far it lasted too. Metallica haven’t been metal since 1991, and the black album is quite different from their ealier work. St. Anger was a bad joke and Death Magnetic is as crappy as the album name.

Mustaine is going to the Hall of Fame anyway.

Some of Metallica’s best songs on the first 2 albums was done by Mustaine. He should by far be inducted with those guys. They owe him that much. Give credit where credit is due.

Tom I think he is over it but I think Lars keeps dragging him into it. If it wasn’t for Lars I don’t think he would have been on Some Kind of Monster and It sounds like Lars invited him. I think I remember hearing Lars say on Some kind of Monster that he respects Dave and Megadeth but I’m starting to really wonder. I agree with the above comments about Megadeth’s line-up changes, too. I mean they introducted what, 6 people that had been involved in Metallica? Megadeth would have a million! Not forgetting that Dave has beef with a majority of them!
I wish Dave would just shut up, he’s sucessful and pretty much revered as a metal God. Its a shame that he can’t understand that the majority of Metallica’s influence on the metal world came after he left… Why can’t everyone just get along??!?

Both bands had a similiar career path. Both produced great albums up to the early 90s, then lost their way and refound in the 00s. Metallica released 4 albums since the black album while Megadeth continue to release one near enough every two years.

Ulrich and Mustaine will never get over it because people keep bringing it up. Ulrich has a big chip on his shoulder and so does Mustaine. If we get over it they will too. Mustaine told Ulrich he didn’t want to be in Some Kind of Monster if he didn’t like the footage and he agreed, didn’t like it, didn’t want it in the movie but they put it in there anyways. So it just added more fuel to the fire that had been slowly dying. Dave was in concert on the induction day and since he wasn’t being inducted he thought playing for a large crowd was better than watching people who kicked him out of their band get inducted. I think if it was anyone else it would be the same response.
