Mustaine: “Rust In Peace UK Shows Are A Possibility”
Dave Mustaine has revealed that their may be room in Megadeth’s schedule to bring the Rust In Peace anniversary shows to the UK. Hell yeah! Get Download 2010 tickets here!
Metal Hammer has spoken to Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine about the possibility of the band’s current US show (where they are playing their classic ‘Rust In Peace’ album from start to finish)making it’s way to the UK.
We want it, you want it and, by the sounds of things, Megadeth want it too!
”I know that we’re coming over to do the festivals, so I don’t see any reason why we couldn’t do a couple of private shows some place for the Rust In Peace record,” says Mustaine. “If we’re doing that in between the festival dates it would have to be something that was just that 45 minute set, so that I don’t kill myself! We’ve got a pretty busy summer. I would love to be able to do that.”
By the sounds of things, they won’t be doing the ‘Rust…’ at Download but we can prey for additional UK shows in June, can’t we?
Bands confirmed for this year’s Download festival thus far: AC/DC, Aerosmith, Rage Against The Machine, Them Crooked Vultures, Deftones, Stone Temple Pilots, Bullet For My Valentine, 30 Seconds To Mars, Stone Sour, Wolfmother, Megadeth, Motorhead, Billy Idol, Lamb Of God, Volbeat, Five Finger Death Punch and many, many more to still be announced. I need this!!! Rust in Peace is the album that got me into Megadeth (even if it was only just over 6 months ago (I’m only 15 leave me alone)) and I have yet to see them live. I would love more for them to bring it to Sonisphere.

No one however mentions Metallica’s lack of a decent album for 20 years. Megadeth? ‘RIP’, ‘CtoE’, Youthanasia’, ‘UA’ & ‘Endgame’, also arguably ‘the System Has Failed’.
