Apart from the fact Bee Gee they finished before Korn did, probably the promotors decision to stop ignorant fucks like you attacking music fans.
I was on the barrier for MCR at that Download, I am not much of an MCR fan now but they are good at what they do. There was a 12 year old girl with her mum beside me, it was the girls first ever live show. Right before MCR came onstage she got hit in the back of the head with a stone thrown by an idiot who wanted to abuse the band. Blood sprayed everywhere, her head cracked open, she had to get taken to hospital.
How is shit like that funny or even justified? Chanting emo blood, grow the fuck up. I like heavy music, I stopped going to a lot of gigs because of ignorant fucks like you. Music is objective, you idiot.

In no way have I ever, or do I ever, condone violence – throwing things at a band, or in the crowd included. That’s just ridiculous, and goes for the same twats who throw half-drank pints of beer in the crowd at a gig.

And that would be condoning those sort of attacks, which to be honest if is your opinion, no should not be shared.
However, I apologize if that wasn’t the intent behind your statement. There are plenty of bands I dislike and I am just as opininated as the next guy, but when it gets down to disliking someone or threatening them purely on their musical taste, it just disgusting and pointless. So again, apologies if that looked like an overreaction, I just do not see the point in that kind of thing.
Also Harrison, if Metal Hammer reported SOLELY on what people seem to class as “true metal”, it would sell far less copies, get far less attention and probably go under, the demand isn’t as great as you like to think it is. That is why they also report on bands like MCR and Lostprophets. it is simple business sense.

It’s not very fair to ask MH not to affilate with MCR, they offer the news about the music we love, and MCR have alot of fans. I think HIM are shit, but I never moan about them being in the mag or on the site. If you aren’t interested in the band just read on and ignore it. I respect Metal Hammer for what they bring to UK metal fans!

It always makes me chuckle when people focus on the attention that MH gives to 1 or 2 bands that they hate compared to that of all the bands they love. MH covers SEVERAL bands that I can’t stand, but am I going to stop reading it? No, because this is vastly outweighed by the bands I love.

And for the record, I’ve always been quite partial to MCR (bought 3CFSW when it came out) and have never quite understood the mass vitriol directed against them. Sure they’re a bit whiny, and your parents would probably be bitterly disappointed if you took any of them home for dinner (!), but it’s still alright music (not strictly “metal” but okay for what it is).

Tom, i think that a sad reality of the bias and dislike towards them is their fans. the seem to really annoy alot of metal fans, you probably know who i mean, there is a large female fanbase they have, and they have unclear reasons for their devotion and are seemingly impossible to reason with. a while ago, i heard a young girl had killed herself, and in her note claimed to be ‘going to the black parade’. that kind of thing doesnt make sense to some people. also remember that mcr have provoked metal fans, a particular example being the kerrang awards, where Machine Head won best album, over MCR’s newest record, the fans were incredibly frustrated, and became cross on the kerrang message board and comments boxes. this doesnt bother me, as an MH fan. some people just cant get along.
Metal Hammer can report on whatever they want, remember that the magazine were one of the first over here to pick up on mcr in older days before the black parade stuff, where their fanbase expanded a great deal, & a shift in musical direction.

tbh I’m more dissapointed that MH included My Passion on their cd for this month’s mag. Seriously, they make Madina Lake look good, and ML are worse than having a fat sweaty man sit on your face.

I liked the album before the black parade, “three cheers” or whatever it was called. i enjoyed the catchiness and the punk elements were great. It came out just before all these bands cashed in on the “emo” success. It was a genuinely good “Rock” album and ill let them off for that one.

The Black Parade however. hahaha. what a load of toss. One of the worst albums iv ever heard. and yes, stupidly i bought it because i enjoyed the one before. What a mistake.

I agree with what Fraz just said, MCR were the first slightly metallic band I ever liked, now Ive progressed onto the good stuff like Slayer/Iron maiden/Napalm death. If they work as a gateway to better music, then great for them!!

samual dont asume that bring me the shit atract all teens im 15 and would rather cut my left bollek of than listen to them. they atract the scene kids witch is most teens. but there are kids who listen to as much if not more metal than most people on this site
