I mean “its people trying to get famous”…what happened with them? 2nd album and they hit big, go talk to the bands who have been going for 20+ years and still haven’t hit the same heights as these gits and thats what real music is about.

Well, some of those sacred metal bands have terribly stupid lyrics too, but they hide their emptiness with some rude screams, and everything’s all right while their fans shake their heads as idiots. hahaha

This band seriously don’t deserve as much hate as they get. Yeah they are very “eh” at times but there are far worse bands out there. I’d even say I like a few of their songs. I know I’m going to get a lot of shit for this, but I don’t really care. It’s bands like Hollywood Undead that are truly ruining music.

What idiots like him who have made the big time, who don’t have the worry about selling their music as their 13 year old fans will buy whatever tosh they bring out, fail to realise is that a lot of bands depend on myspace as the only way to get their music across to their fans worldwide! These bands can’t afford world tours to promote their music so who is he to criticise it! And as for facebook. It’s just for the mainstream popular masses so why metal fans would want to go on there when we have and never will be accepted by the ‘mainstream’ is beyond me!

I’mma get a lot of stick for saying asically, ‘Lay off the guy’, but I’m nevertheless gonna say it. Though their latest album may not have been as dangerous as their first record (literally best described as Black Flag+The Smiths +Horror movies. Honey THis Mirror Isn’t Big Enough for the Two of Us could definitely be called dangerous) which was pretty much so scuzzy and genre-clashy that it could be hard to listen to, and I personally don’t like it as much, it’s more subversive than, say, Machine Head’s The Blackening (from the same year) inasmuch as it’s putting metal, fucked-up, dangerous concepts and ideas in pop songs that are getting played on the radio: Teenagers (a shite song, but that may have ben a deliberate meta-musical thing) was about teenagers being brainwashed by the bullshit status quo whilst being fed homogenised, conformist, ’safe’ rebellion in the majority of ‘Alternative’ music. That’s not necessarily metal, but that’s punk as fuck. And Mama was still pretty dangerous: the polka-y/poppy song turning into a breakdown taken straight from Candlemass or Down with Gerard Way screaming lyrics about mortality and life’s futility before suddenly everything cuts out and it’s just Liza Minelli singing. MCR are definitely not metal, and nor are they straight-up punk, but they are subversive as fuck, dangerous, piss people in the mainstream off (hilarious Daily Mail articles et al) far more than metalheads (the mainstream paints us as a metalhead ghetto or punk ghetto – it’s much scarier for them to see this stuff coming from the mainstream, from where they thought was safe) and did work, rather than using mySpace: touring in a van for 5 years (bands who tour for 20 years but don’t get that level of success still generally get a tourbus after about 5years) and badgering the bands they liked to take them on tour rather than getting as many plays as they could on mySpace and then taking that number to a record label. If you’re 100% committed to the music, you don’t need mySpace: you tour toilets until more and more people come to the shows. And if you stillcan’t accept MCR as dangerous, bear in mind the guitar player also sings for LeATHERMOUTH, screaming incomprehensible lyrics about serial killers and revolution over disquieting and thrashing metalcore, and Way sang on ETID’s second record.

whats funny about them is that back in 2002 they were giving their music away on myspace (citing Blender Magazine). Then they got big and seemed to forget that they owed places like Myspace for their fame.
They also pissed quite a few people off when Gerard Way told little girls that he wanted to hear them moan for them (Belfast, Germany).
He also went against his stance with PETA when he rented a monkey for his pregnant wife.
