Grow the fuck up guys, everybody has their own opinions, yeah, I consider JP a metal band too but jesus, grow up and understand that everybody has a different outlook on music. He’s the emo? I don’t think he said it WASN’T metal, he said that it wasALSO great rock’n'roll. Anyway, people really shouldn’t be bothered by genres, justthe quality of the music. Genres is so subjective you can’t be sure of whatsomething is, really. I really don’t think he deserved you calling him a ‘douchbag’ because he made an actually NICE comment of a band.

For those of you who got your panties in a bunch: The dude from MCR never said Judas Priest were NOT metal… he only said:

“They are considered metal…”
and then when he said “but it’s great rock n roll” or whatever he said, I don’t believe he was saying they were just rock n roll, I think he meant that they have a nice rock n roll vibe that they wanted to re-create, or were influenced by… although they are considered metal… or are metal.

Metal Gods?
I hate it when people believe that if it wasn’t for {insert metal band name here} there would never be metal. That’s stupid to believe and I’ll tell you why. If Judas Priest never came to be, some other band would’ve played something which we would be calling metal right now and would be obsessing over.

Plus, the fact that they were one or the first band to play the genre, doesn’t mean no one else could’ve done it. Simply, they just got the chance first.

So metal gods my ass. Good music, but I don’t even like it. Except for “Painkiller” and shit I can play my guitar to.

You guys just say they are metal gods cause they got famous. If they weren’t so famous, you guys would obsess over the next most popular thing and call them gods.

Why did they get famous then?
I’m guessing due to the smaller number of metal bands and new/ different genres to choose from. A new band came out, they had so many things to try out no one had ever attempted before. Like… tune up your shit and make something Metal… and bam! you’re famous. And maybe overrated… but I won’t say that cause we all like our different shit.

I prefer the modern stuff where the vocals sound cleaner, better, better sounding guitars
(like the Afterlife solo by A7X)
IDK… I can’t find much in older music.
Modern music take what is great about the old, but apply modern shit, which I believe is to blame for the greater sound that at least I like in modern music. Except for the Iron Maiden “These Colours…” solo… an older band performing one of my favorite solos. Usually my fave solos are done by newer bands like Atreyu. Anyway that’s enough about modern/older music.

Kev, emo is a state of mind not a genre. Hence why emo wastaken from ‘emotional’, and everyone gets emotional. Like you dickhead metal heads crying over nothing… does it really matter what your ‘least favourite’ person in the world thinks of your ‘favourite metal band’?? no.
I stand to be a true mcr fan and i dont care what other people think of them, cause theyre my ‘favourite’ band, and im willing to stand up for them whenever because of what they have done for me..

so here it is, i love my chemical romance, i dont allways wear black, i dont cut my self, i dont put my self into any stereotypes such as emo, when i was depressed and having suicidal thoughts mcr gave me a reason to stay on this planet, cause theyre there for me and they save my life every fucking day and give me the courage to carry on and not give a shit and not tak any shit from people. end of my rant…

Oh dear… he actually complimented Judas Priest and you find the smallest thing to pick on.
I love your magazine but your attitude is starting to become that of NME… snobby & single minded.
I love both MCR & Judas Priest & I’m not going to pick between them because a bunch of silly nitpickers have nothing else to write about.
This doesn’t matter & it’s probably one of the most stupid reasons to hate on someone I’ve ever seen.
Please broaden your horizons (I know plenty of these commentors are so desperate to be metal but really are failing), don’t hate on anyone & get lives
