Melodic Deathsters INSOMNIUM will be coming in from Joensuu, Finland for an exclusive UK festival performance at BOA 2009. Dark, melancholic, folky and symphonic, these unique doomy-deathheads are finally bringing their melodic death metal and traditional Finnish music mix to BOA after being forced to cancel a scheduled appearance 3 years ago.

“We are really excited to get back to the UK” says the band. “Playing Bloodstock just before our new album comes out is a great thing for us! We had to cancel Bloodstock in 2006, so we are really happy to get the opportunity to do it this year. All you good people over there, you can expect a total carnage!”

Over on the Sophie Lancaster stage, London grinders THE ROTTED will be shredding, blasting and growling their hearts out at their first ever Bloodstock appearance. Changing their name from Gorerotted in 2008, THE ROTTED wasted no time, recording an album for Metal Blade, then hitting the road, performing at headline shows as well as appearing with such legends as Iron Maiden, Napalm Death, Deathstars and Anathema. With a hardcore punk attitude, cynical lyrical humour and a fierce sound, THE ROTTED will have Bloodstock attendees furiously head banging or running for cover – and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

In other news, we are pleased to announce that day tickets for the UK’s biggest Metal event of the calendar go on sale 1st July at just £45. AMAZING VALUE! A choice of over 25 bands to choose from on any one of the 3 days. For those of you not able to attend for the entire weekend, you’re gonna have one hell of a day to remember.

Ticket holders will have access to the arena from 10am til 2am and a choice of 3 x stages of the most brutal metal acts on the planet. You’ll even get the chance to meet your favourite band at the official Band Signing Tent, shop til ya drop at the international metal market, enjoy the thrills of the Monster Ball of Steel Stunt Show as well as  loads more entertainment.

On top of that and if you still have any energy left after the main stage closes at 11.30pm – join the late night Metal Party where you can raise a pint or 2 with your metal brethren in aid of getting your vocal chords lubricated, your stage presence perfected and your lyrics learnt for the Infamous Late night Bloodstock Metal Karaoke. Of course you can just do what everyone else does and just get your name down, get merry, get up on stage, wonder what the hell you’re doing there and then belt out the track of your choice to adoring thousands who also wonder what the hell you’re doing there…..just before they follow you up to do the same.
