Mustaine Speaks Out About ‘Big Four’ Tour

Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has spoken out about the ‘big four’ tour that would involve Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax.
Speaking on the Megadeth forum, Mustaine says: “Regarding rumors of the ‘Big Four’ touring, I have heard nothing about this, other than gossip, and I don’t think that anyone would turn it down, but there are a lot of things that would have to be worked out. A LOT!”
He went on to comment on the recent mudslinging from Slayer towards Megadeth and said: “I am having fun with this, and I hope not to hurt the tour (with Slayer) or the fans’ chance of seeing these two great bands because I have said something I shouldn’t have. I am aware that there are comments we all made in the past, but I have tried very, very hard not to make any comments about Slayer, other than their music and concerts, because it is none of my business, and I am much older now than I was when I said the regrettable things I said.
“I am aware that there is stuff out there that has been said about me; some of it is old, some of it is new. I am disappointed in the new comments, but I am going to remain professional and give Kerry and Tom and Slayer the benefit of the doubt and hope that it is just old stuff, and be the best tourmate that I can be. Either way, I pray for the guys in Slayer, although they may not want it, but I do. I pray that we’ll be friends again someday, I pray that the tour will be as much fun for them as it is for us, and I pray that they will be as happy as we are and more.
“Remember, three of the members in Megadeth were not even there for the ‘Clash Of The Titans’.
“So, here is to forgiveness, and hopefully being forgiven for past ’stuff.’”

This tour would be awesome, we all know that. But anyone who has the faintest glimmer of hope of it happening is going to be so dissapointed. There is no way in HELL that you are going to get all 4 of those bands in a room together never mind do a tour. There are too many egos, too many things said in the past and way to much pride at stake. I would say that the only one of them that would do it purely out of doing it for fun would be Anthrax. Metallica, at the end of the day, wouldn’t give a shit one way or another. They’re bigger than all the other three combined so they don’t need to do it. Megadeth (or, more to the point, Dave) will not want to go on before anyone else, Slayer will just spend the whole tour slagging off the other three bands in the press too the point that the plug will probably get pulled on the whole thing when everyone else cracks the shits with Tom and Kerry’s big mouths. I’ll put money on this being the order in which various band members fuck it all up for everyone and the idea for the tour is scrapped:

4. Tom
5. James
6. Jeff

NICK – not sure where you get that from, Scott Ian (and Charlie Bennate) has written some of the greatest riffs to ever bless heavy metal. How you can call them the weakest is beyond me, and every other proper metal fan, on this website.
