Mastodon formed in 1999 when Brann Dailor and Bill Kelliher (ex-Lethargy/ex-Today Is The Day) moved to Atlanta where the pair met Troy Sanders and Brent Hinds (ex-Four Hour Fogger). After recording a demo in 2000 the band signed to Relapse and more recently, Warner Records.
