Nightwish Singer Is Pregnant
That will explain why Anette Olzon shelved plans for her solo album then, eh?
Nightwish singer Anette Olzon has confirmed that she is pregnant and will obviously be putting all musical endeavours to one-side for this time.
A full blog from the Nightwish vocalist reads:
“I have held a little secret for you all for some time now, but today I feel I want to share it with you all.
“As you all know, I am very private and don’t want to share to much about my personal life, but due to some speculations and since I am so happy I have decided to tell my secret:
“Last autumn in the middle of my demo recordings of my solo album, I started to feel very, very tired and also nauseated. I took a pregnancy test and guess if me and my boyfriend was really surprised to see that I had gotten pregnant. Since I had decided to not have any more children than my son (eight-year-old Seth), it was totally not planned, but after the very first shock, it felt really, really good.
“Now I have almost done half the pregnancy and I am feeling extremely good, but it’s due to this I decided to not do the solo this year. I am sure you all can understand this decision better now and I do promise to release the songs at another time.”

im not being a dick Ben. Annette has ruined Nightwish. if i wanted to listen to some wanna be pop princess id listen to Hannah Montanna. Tarja will always be Nightwish, and until they bring Tarja back Nightwish will just sound god awful.
I totally agree with Luke. Best luck with her pregnancy but musically I really can’t stand her with Nightwish. Tarja was awesome but Annette is an embarassment.
Annette has not ruined Nightwish. Sure it’s a different sound, but if you don’t like it, don’t listen to it. If you think Tarja is the only reason Nightwish was so amazing, then you should be blaming the rest of the band for firing her. Annette had nothing to do with that.
She isn’t an embaressment. Of course she can’t replace tarja, and i will always prefer tarja era nightwish, but you can’t deny that nightwish havent put out a few quality songs since she joined. Bye Bye Beautiful and The Islander being just 2 examples. Give them a listen and then tell me i’m wrong!

Oh, come one, I also don’t like Annette but why should we blame her for ruining Nightwish?! Her only fault is that she can’t sing – blame those who chose her in the band, not her. Blame those who turned a beutiful sound into nothing-sounding like sh**, because that’s what their previous album is.
Nightwish turned into a never-ending soap opera and fell to the bottom just for the sake of fame and money. And that’s not Annette’s fault. She’s just a part-time member, like the other three. One letter extra in her mail-box and she may very well be out of the band. It’s easy.
Congrats, by the way, I wish her all the happiness – to her and the happy dad! It’s a blessing!
