Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne has announced that Ozzfest 2005 will mark his final appearance as a headline performer. Since the festival’s inception in 1996, Ozzy has appeared either with Black Sabbath (the case on this year’s trek) or as a solo artist. Ozzy’s reason for his departure is simple:

“It’s time for me to move on and do other things… the Ozzfest’s name and reputation has been established.”

Today’s announcement does not spell the end of Ozzy’s association with the festival. It has been confirmed that the festival will carry on in 2006, with Ozzy limiting his appearances to a select number of cities.
