Planet Metal CD Revealed
The current issue of Metal Hammer includes a very special mini-magazine and companion CD: Planet Metal.
Hammer has been trawling the globe for the best in far flung heavy metal and the stories behind them: the people, the places, the meaning. From the social and religious oppression in Iran to the burgeoning Indian metal scene; from the closed society of China and its musical outpourings to South America where the legacy of metal goes deep and means much.
Also we headed to South Africa, South Korea, Japan, Egypt and around the Mediterranean. We found bands creating metal instruments such as sitars, erdu, marimba and shamisen, and guitar-based bands using fascinating non-western chord patterns. In our search we came across not only the wild and wondetrful but simply some of the best heavy metal we’ve heard in years – seriously, check out the Bhayanak Maut track on the CD
If you want to have your eyes opened to a world of metal outside Europe and North America, then pick up a copy of Metal Hammer with the free 15 track CD
Bands include Bhayanak Maut from India, Myrath from Tunisia, Black Infinity from Vietnam, Farzad from Iran, Daycore from Colombia, Infection from Peru, Scarab from Egypt (who already have a fan in Karl Sanders Nile), Terraseria from Mexico, Bilocate from Jordan, Undying Inc from India, Agro from South Africa, the crushing Coffins from Japan, Fatal Fear from South Korea, Hate Fusion from Argentina and Sexto Sonar from Venezuela – this is a serious trip!

Wow sounds cool! i cant wait to hear em!
An Egyptian band? Of course Karl Sanders loves them XD.
Although, that’ll be interesting to hear. It’s nice to hear metal is about in some of the less well-off countries (save for Japan). I went to Egypt about four years ago and it was a nice place but I’d have never thought there would be any metal bands, at least not any who could get on one of these CDs. Props to Metal Hammer for going out there and helping out bands who might otherwise not even have careers, if you could call them that.
Woah!
Bhayanak Maut and Undying Inc. FTW! \m/
All sound really good after the first listen, thanks for drawing light to these bands!

cheers from venezuela
Sexto Sonar, a slightly original band, they are Dream Theater’s cheap copy, in Venezuela they are not anybody and they believe a great band, do not have identity, the music that they do is it of other one, they do not have creativity
Hey Sexto Sonar rules guys!! that is the most important band at my country, they are awesome… What a proud for Venezuela… Son lo mejor del Progressive Metal
BLACK INFINITY \m/
The better(best) of Venezuela is Metempsychosis, Not Sexto Sonar, Sexto Sonar they do not have identity, the better(best) thing of me country is Metemp
random number… the farzad myspace page is:
http://www.myspace.com/farzadgolpayegani
Sexto Sonar Rulees!!! I dont know why Juan Manuel says that shit! You feel just envy man!
Of course they have identity. Obviously you dont have taste for music. You just write here to talk shit about them, you dont really have a good argument to say that… There´s a reason why they were choosen for planet metal. So shut up dude.
Sexto Sonar rules!!
More shit of Venezuela is A Sexto Sonar, I insist, it is a new band but they are dedicated to interpreting the progressive one of another band, that is to say, it is like a band without soul, without own(proper) style, it is good to have influences but not so marked. In addition, this band Sexto Sonar they were mounted in a cloud and they believe the most important band of Venezuela, and in Venezuela the better(best) thing is Gillman and Arkangel, and of new bands METEMPSICOSIS is THE BETTER(BEST) THING
Dear Juan Manuel definitivly u sound like a jealous guy, sexto sonar its a great band, its a new band of course but they are makin history, i wonder about metempsicosis where are they? the las time i heard of them they were in spain or soemthing but no more, yeah its a very cool band metempsicosis and the other bands of venezuela in his different styles whats your problem man if metal hammmer choose those guys they have his reasons u know so, live and let live man
Guys, you gotta hear the daycore’s track, the best fucking damn thrash/death metal i’ve heard in all south america
one of sa’s finest???? agro is south africas finest and the most appreciative of fans too
Agro is awesome. Love the song. But was shocked when I bought the Reinventing History album and found another female cameo on the same song that SUCKED!!! Shoulda bought Ritual 6 instead.
p.s. was awesome to be on this cd!
Total honour to be on with such great bands, I hope we can all play together sometime!

Loads more great music on our (own) label Realize Records, myspace.com/x24crewx
I just wish our name was spelled right and we were ascosiated correctly on the Metal Hammer last fm as our song is credited to another band.
We are FatalFear -one word, and the first band formed
theres a mexican band called Fatal Fear -two words, that formed after us.
Anyways, thanks again to Gill for the chance to at least get some atention.
