Just when people were starting to get a little bit sick of the RATM for Christmas number 1 campaign, yesterday Rage Against the Machine threw a middle finger in the face of radio censorship by performing ‘Killing In The name’ complete with its “fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me” refrain. It was, by all accounts, a hilarious act of defiance on their behalf and we applaud them loudly for it.
Anyway, the BBC have now released the full video of that particular performance and you can check that out here.
To update the current chart situation, Rage Against the machine currently lead Joe McElderry by just under 9,000 copies. With all of the grannies that will pick this CD up in their local ASDA’s this weekend, you had better believe that there’s still much more work to do. How would you feel if you didn’t download your copy and all of this work was in vein when the charts are unveiled on Sunday night? i dont want to sound like a pessimist but i dont think ratm will win, supposedly the charts authority will make killing in the name invalid if they suspect it will get to number one through bulkbuying but it was worded in such a way it sounded like a threat; fascist C***s will probably do it at the last hour!!

That’s how it should work in theory, but we all know how people at the top of the ‘money making chain’ want things their way. I want RATM to win, but I can’t see it happening. Unfortunately, there will always be more people willing to buy mindless pop music than there is RATM fans in the UK.
Ironically, I liked Simon Cowell and his way with words until recently, but the xfactor judges just sound like spoiled brats over this. I’m sure Mr. Cowell has more than enough cash in his bank account to let this one slip.

i think its gonna turn out like when the sex pistols got to no.1 with “god save the queen” but it was covered up and another song got to no.1 even though the sex pistols sold more records.

I’m not a metal fan and i dont normally buy much music but i bought my copy of RATM, its actually quite good and tickles that ’sex-pistol’ bit of me quite nicely (particularly enjoyed the performance on Radio1).
And they are going to donate some of that money to my favorite cause, homeless people…. Surely this is a ‘cheryl’ (no-brainer)…
