It is with a tear in our eye and a heavy heart that we have to tell you all that Ratt have cancelled their appearance at Download this weekend and their entire European run. We’d been swatting up our lyrics to ‘Round And Round’ but alas, Download will be a Ratt-less affair.
Bands confirmed for this year’s Download festival thus far: AC/DC, Aerosmith, Rage Against The Machine, Them Crooked Vultures, Deftones, Stone Temple Pilots, Bullet For My Valentine, Stone Sour, Megadeth, Motorhead, Slash, HIM, Airbourne, Steel Panther, Billy Idol, Lamb Of God, Volbeat, Five Finger Death Punch and many, many more to still be announced. Disappointing. Was quite looking forward to seeing Ratt at Islington Academy with Anvil and Girlschool. Hopefully the whole gig isn’t cancelled and Anvil just play a longer set.

Ratt have been forced to cancel their upcoming European tour dates. Vocalist Stephen Pearcy will be undergoing urgent hernia surgery this week. The band regrets missing the European dates on the heels of the release of their first album in eleven years, Infestation, which enjoyed a high chart debut in European territories.
Ratt shares this disappointment with all their European fans who planned to attend the shows at Sweden Rock, Sauna Open Air Festival, UK Download, Hellfest, Graspop Metal Meeting and Gods of Metal as well as their other dates. The band is looking into rescheduling as many of the shows as possible.
Pearcy’s doctors anticipate a full recovery in time for Ratt’s North American touring schedule, which includes a run with Scorpions, beginning in July and running through September.
