download_90It’s only two weeks until we’re all in a field getting smashed and banging our fucking heads! Woo hoo! We’re excited and so are Black Stone Cherry in today’s Road To Download interview!

Black Stone Sherry, fresh off of a UK tour supporting Nickelback, are set to bring their Classic Rock-themed brand of Southern rock to Donington for Download! Check out their set on the main stage on June 14th and check in with frontman Chris Robertson right now!

How much are you looking forward to playing this year’s Download?

Chris Robertson: “Put it this way.  When we got our tour itinerary for the summer of this year, the first date we looked for was Download!!”

Have you played before and if so what’ s your greatest memory?

Chris: “We played the main stage at Download last year and are still showing people the video footage of photos we took from it…it was an AMAZING experience!”

If you’ ve not played before, what’ s your biggest ambition for this year’ s Download set?

Chris: “We just wanna top our show from last year and make an impression in everyone’s head. After the night is over, we want people walking away remembering Black Stone Cherry!”

Do you have any surprises plans?

Chris: “Well, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we told ya now would it? Ha!”

What’s the pros and con’s to playing a festival set?

Chris: “The pros are that you get to play in front of thousands of people all at once!  The cons would be that sometimes you have to play a short set and you never get a soundcheck…but it’s all good and all worth it!”

Describe why people should come and see your set in 5 words.

Chris: “REAL POWER EMOTION SWEAT ENERGY…that pretty much makes up a BSC set!”
