Roadrunner Re-sign Bleeding Through And Black Label Society
Both bands will return to the label for their forthcoming releases.
Orange County hardcore crew Bleeding Through and Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society will both return to Roadrunner in Europe to release their forthcoming albums.
Bleeding through have recently completed work on the follow-up to their monstrous ‘Declaration’ album and are about to hit UK shores as part of The Black Procession tour. Get tickets to The Black Procession here!
Black label Society last released ‘Shot To Hell’ on Roadrunner in 2006 and will return with a brand new album this summer.
“With the home studio I have this flexibility when inspiration hits to lay down new ideas at anytime – day or night – for rerecording later,” reveals Zakk. “This freshness should prove inspiring – and some of these first takes might even make it on the album,” he enthuses.
“I’m ready to work with our Black Label Brothers and Sisters at Roadrunner in Europe!,” he continues. “They share the same Strength, Determination, Merciless, Forever attitude as Black Label Society does so it only seems natural to continue working together!”
You can catch Black Label Society on the Metal Hammer stage at this summer’s High Voltage festival in Victoria Park on July 24th/25th. Get High Voltage tickets here!

i think roadrunner were idiots for dropping Bleeding Through in the first place over here. although i dont think the success of Declaration was helped by Nuclear Blast a lot thorugh all the promotion. Roadrunner tend to forget bands when they reach a certain level and expect them to do all he work for them. which is a shame cas most of my favourite bands use to be on Roadrunner.
finally black label society might actually get promoted properly over here and do a full tour at last, can’t wait to see them at the high voltage festival plus bleeding through are pretty good as well am liking the song “line in the sand”
Luke roadrunner didnt have bleeding through Trustkill Records did roadrunner was promotion for trustkill and trustkill stop working with roadrunner and move to stope
Roadrunner has to be the worst record label at the moment, only promoting their big bands like Slipknot and whatnot. BLS didn’t get any support from RR the first time, I doubt any difference will be made this time round. I just hope that I’m proven wrong.
@ Crist. Mutiny Within don’t even have their album out yet and they’re getting ridiculous amounts of promo.
@ Coops. I guess it depends on the band, then…. :S
Shot to hell was the weakest of the BLS albums so maybe Zakk expected being on RR to do all the work for him (which didn’t work out obviously). Hopefully the new one will be better and deserve to shift a few units.
roadrunner disgraced themselves by signing shit like nickelback, but i suppose their success helps roadrunner spend more money on decent bands. i dont want to have a go at roadrunner tho cos they’ve boosted opeth, porcupine tree, dream theater etc in recent years. bleeding through and BLS both deserve a big push too
Bleeding Through are fucking sick.
@ Michael. Trustkill is owned by Roadrunner. in the US they were on Trustkill and the UK they were on Roadrunner. Trustkill just didnt want to spend the money on them, and Roadrunner over here didnt give a toss about them. all the promotion and such costs in the UK had to be dealt with by Roadrunner not by Trustkill. which is why when BT signed to Nuclear Blast for Declaration, the album was incredibly heavily promoted and advertised and Nuclear Blast did a great job and put shame to Roadrunner.
which is why i agree with Crist. Roadrunner are just a sham now promoting only big names. they may be heavily promoting Mutiny Within, but i can garuantee you on album 2 for them, Roadrunner wont do a thing. a good example is Chimaira. the Impossibility of Reason was so heavily promoted and succesful that they didnt even bother with their self-titled album after it because they thought they had enough of a fan base to sell it on its own. no promotion went into that hence why they left Roadrunner. Roadrunner always do it when a band gets big enough. they are only still doing it with Slipknot, Nickleback and Megadeth because they are cash cows. if they lose them im sure the company would probably go near bankruptcy.
Nuclear Blast puts them to shame considering how much they promote and support even the small bands on the label. even the smaller labels put Roadrunner to shame when it comes to promoting and supporting their bands.
Roadrunner aren’t as bad as you guys are making out, I see a lot of ads for artists on their label in Metal Hammer regularly, on top of that they’re constantly reducing prices on records which means people can actually afford to buy them and they do a good job of promoting small names as well as big names, for example Taking Dawn, Mutiny Within, Delain and Dommin, I personally think RR are quite a good label.
