Ronnie James Dio, to my mind, is the single most important figure in hard rock/metal history. I’ve been listening to this man’s music for as long as I’ve been listening to music (which is many more years than I care to admit here and now)! Personally, I can’t think of anybody who has shaped my musical tastes more over the years more than RJD, be it through Rainbow, Sabbath, solo or H&H! This is awfully sad news but I can’t imagine for one minute that Ronnie won’t defeat this illness! Before we know it, he’ll be back rocking again! Dio has always been there for me (and for all of the defenders of the faith) without fail, with superb album after album and stunning tour after tour! I hope that these messages are passed on directly to the Dio camp so that the man himself can know that we, the loyal fans, are all here for him too with thoughts, prayers, well wishes and positive vibes! Get well soon Ronnie. Kill this dragon! You rule and this cancer has obviously has no idea who it’s messing with!
