Was there much point putting the last bit when you listed all the bands above?
Anyway, not a bad announcement. Number of decent bands there, obviously Slash is the big one, but this is shaping up to be a good lineup
well i fucking love this announcement, pity i have blackbelt karate grading on the sunday or i would sooo be down there
Slash and…….oh that’s it really. Are there even any bands left for Sonisphere to get?
Pretty decent, Slash, Atreyu and Cancer Bats are the only names that really jump out at me, Sonisphere is looking a lot better at the moment as it has more bands that appeal to me.
Panic Cell and Die Apokalyptichen Reiter
once again, alot of “who the hell are they?” bands but still some good bands amongst them. looking forward to seeing As I Lay Dying on the small stage. Bring It On!!!
@Perry, you can still go, Dave Mustaine’s a black belt, he can grade you.
porcupine tree is the only source of excitement.
Fucking great announcement, The Used, Atreyu, AILD. This really does shit on sonisphere now!!!
Good Solid annoucement… A few clashes been brought in and people will complain but that’s the Internet for you… Slash will be awesome! Let’s see wa Soni does next!
dissapointed theres no chimaira or disturbed
good announcement for some but not good in my opinion
By God! – AC/DC and/or Aerosmith’s demands must have been truely astronomical.
pretty shit announcement tbh
whys it called download? It should well be called CLAHNLOAD!!! Because every person who is going is a Fucking CLAHN!!!!
Whys it called Download? It should be called CLAHNLOAD!!! Because everybody who is buying a ticket is a fuckin CLAHN. Great linep, Shame about the price
Oooft the Damned things and Young Guns, along with GOTK and Slash, Cancer bats, Porcupine tree and year long disaster, im truely jelous now… Come on Sonisphere pull something big and Dream Theater shaped out…
CUNT. I’m not happy that I have a Sonisphere ticket now. This is an awesome announcement. It’s over to you Sonisphere.
80% of Download are filler bands, i guess the organisers spend all there budget on the head liners.
Very meh porcupine tree, white wizzard and DAR only good ones from that bunch that i wanna see again. flyleaf very easy to see.
underwhelming or what
WHERE ARE 36 CRAZYFISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why is everyone talking like it’s a battle between Download and Sonisphere?
Some good bands announced today,.but the lineup is still very below par
Hey look at the Hellfest line up much better than Download (part from AC/DC RAGE but too much money for those one day tickets cus the of rest bands can go and f*^& them selfs!) and it’s cheaper and europians really rock well and they very sharing!!! got some bands that u won’t get at download and is far far better (and cheaper!!!!) than sonishpere. all the small bands and i mean nearly all of them are just wicked no police barley any security and the scenery is well nice and french!!
So see you there unless u want to get ripped off! HA HA
HELLFEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
very strong announcement.. slashs new album is awesome, as i lay dying will be incredibly on a small stage and white wizzard will be epic
sonisphere are pretty fucked it seems..
36 Crazyfists are on the bill stuart…
Good announcement in my opinion
Yes there’s a lot of obscure/smaller name bands, but if it was all killer no filler we’d all be bitching about too many clashes everywhere so complainers – SHUT IT
Im not happy with as i lay Dying and job for a cowboy on the 3rd stage clashing With AC/DC
worst news of the weekend
Best New of the weekend cancer bats are Playing
Are Gill and Beez going to discuss in the next podcast exactly why only THREE bands look like playing the mainstage on Friday. Or have they been bought off by AC/DC the same as Andy Copping?
sonisphere’s announcement last week is far better than this by download only 3 decent bands in that announcement the damned things, porcupine tree and atreyu.
admittedly most of the announcement is for third stage bands so its going to not have many big names in there (apart from Slash). but still those announced don’t scream must see
sonisphere is owning download atm
sonisphere just got fucked in the arse
WE NEED BLESSED BY A BROKEN HEART, LINKIN PARK, LIMP BIZKIT AND SOULFLY!!!!!!!!
You put Y&T on 2nd and 3rd.
Sunday is CLASH CLASH CLASH. Great day, wish it was on the Friday though when I’ve got more energy to run from stage to stage hahaa
Both son and download are going to be kick ass wish i coulc go to both
Not sure which won is the best
Just wish i was going to both
only going to download at moment
Could be interesting Slash and Scott Weiland on the same stage!
As I Lay Dying
may go saturday. lineup still looks like shit to me.
only Saturday for me, rest of the line up is SHIT!!!!!!!!
any one else notice Job For A Cowboy and Whitechaple are both apparently playing twice?…..
Overall, another shit lineup. Definately did the right thing by chosing Hellfest over this sham of a ‘metal’ festival
Slash!!!!!!
i willl no longer be considered a rock n roll rookie after download as i will have seen acdc, aerosmith, motorhead, slash, dave grohl and john paul jones!
if you’re looking for metal, hellfest is miles and miles ahead of anything else. if you’re looking for a large variety of rock and metal, download isn’t too shabby. they’ve made the lineup so much stronger already just by adding the dillinger escape plan. so far sonisphere’s getting raped, even with maiden. they need a decent announcement soon!
Yeah, definitely not bothering with Download this year. Rammstein, Anthrax and Fear factory are reason enough to go to Sonisphere over this years Download.
Out of that whole 30 band announcement, Porcupine Tree was the only one worth getting excited about.
So them plus Megadeth (who i’ve seen a trillion times anyway) isn’t enough to convince me to travel all the way to Derby for my 2010 festival.
I’m still glad to be going to Sonisphere instead!!
currently i’m planning to go to both, downloads bought whilst i’ve put a deposit on soni, and i must say apart from the headliners for soni, i’m looking foward to download much much more. soni has way too many emo bands, and cause of the staggered stages it looks like i’ll be relying on the bohemia stage to have something decent when their all on….
I’m going to both Download and Sonisphere so i can’t complain. Sweet annoucement, i’m glad Slash isn’t at Soni. He fits better on the download bill.
Personaly i think download is over rated so far theres still only about 5 or 6 bands i would go to see were as theres about 3 bands i wont go to see at bloodstock.
Why only three bands on Friday, i have heard AC/DC are bringing there own stage set up, but more bands are needed. AC/DC are too old to play more than a 2.5/3 hour set!! What’s going on.
Or just swap the 2nd stage around on Friday and Sunday and I won’t care.
Anyway, it’s looking good for me. Soni is decent too. Download gets it for me.
