Slash Confirms Velvet Revolver Have Been Dropped

Slash has confirmed the rumours that have been circulating over the past week that Velvet Revolver have been dropped by RCA Records.

Speaking on his Official Fan Site, the Velvet Revolver guitarist has said: “while it is true that VR is no longer with RCA, the truth is not as negative as the rumor. The band owed RCA money for a third album which at this time they are unable to produce (no singer). The band and RCA parted amicably. When they are recording the new album, it most likely will be for a new label.”

Velvet Revolver’s singer search will continue while drummer matt Sorum has just announced a December residency in LA with cover band, Camp Freddy.

Why doesn’t Slash just put an end to this awful band and start something new?

Fuck it why don’t Slash, Duff, Matt, and Axl just settle there differences and bring back the original GNR. Velvot Revolver’s second album was shite anyway.

P.s Chinese Democracy rocks

Agreed! Scott Weiland has the most miserable boring uninteresting voice on the planet!

hell yeah slash has started loads o new kick ass bands he shud just start a new 1 or be like tom morrelo an do a solo album or be indepentant label

I don’t know… I’m not sure it’ll be that easy for the original members of GnR to come together again.

If CD does really shitty then it’s more likly that Axl will be ingnorant enough still to try again with another set of random artists from different backgrounds than patch it up with Slash, Duff, Izzy and Stradler…

to craig pywell
original guns is steve adler not matt sorum

Steven Adler was the original drummer, not Matt (though, let’s be honest, Matt was the better of the two). There’s two G N’ R line-ups that you could argue over all night long about who’s the better: the original “Appetite…” one or the stadium filling monolith (with Matt and Gilby). I’m an old bugger, I was lucky to have seen both in their day. Gilby Clark - incredibly underated.

Yeah i agree with Stuart, it would be hard for them to get back to the original line up with Slash, Axl, Duff, Izzy, and Steve… no offense to steve but id prefer Matt to be the drummer.
But yeah, if they were gonna get back together, it would be akward ya know? like they’ve been fighting for 10 years… and if they did make up and produce a new album theres a chance it may be shit and an epic fail ya know?

but im a big fan of Velvet Revolver, i liked their albums, i thought they were great, and yesterday i bought the new GnR album ‘Chinese Democracy” and i think that is a great piece of work. Buckethead is a better guitarist, though a tad strange, then i thought and it actually sorta sounded, with a different twist, like the good old GnR of the old days.

I think it would be good if they settled their differences and stuff and form the original gnr and put that into action instead of two different bands… 1 without a singer and sounded like gnr without axl, and the other sounding like a crappy remake of the band including axls vocals…

the new gnr is a good band…i think the new gnr should leave axl and make their own band and there we would be with 3 great bands… guns n roses, a new metal band, and motley crue :P
i love the crue lol

Dave

Slash rocks, i think that VR should take their time the way that Axl did ;)

Pink floyd managed to set aisde their difference and come together for one last time, so too can Guns.

Who really gives a fuck?

same who gives a fuck??
no1 does

i think this could pave the way for a full on GnR reunion. hopefully….
