The Guardian are reporting that Slayer and Metallica are two of the most popular bands to be played by US Soldiers.

This report comes courtesy of the superbly-named Professor Pieslak, who is a music theorist at the City College of New York. Pieslak discovered that 40% of Slayer’s fan mail was sent by US troops stationed in the Middle East and then decided to interview soldiers about their musical tastes.

The three most popular artists? Slayer, Metallica and Eminem. Read the full report here.

Richard Ramirez was also a fan of Slayer

I’ve never heard of Ramirez being a Slayer fan dude. He’s just a nutcase who was apparently influenced by AC/DC, not Slayer!
