Slayer Frontman Speaks Out About Dave Mustaine
Tom Araya has some choice words about the Megadeth frontman.
In an interview with The Quietus, Tom Araya had the following to say about Mustaine:
“You know, I ran into him on two occasions, but when you see someone, and if you’re a human being, you respect them and treat them as human beings — they’re another living person. Other than that, the only thing we shared was that we did those four shows together. You know what I mean?! Nothing’s really changed for me about him; I’m just waiting for him to open his mouth. (Laughs)”
The Quietus: What is the burning issue between Megadeth and Slayer?
Araya: “There isn’t really a burning issue. The thing is he talks a lot of shit — then he apologizes for it, then he continues. Did you see ‘Some Kind of Monster’? That should give you some kind of idea how he is!”
Slayer will release ‘World Painted Blood’ on November 3rd while Megadeth release ‘Endgame’ on September 14th.

Yeah… on the original Clash of the Titans, Mustaine and Mike Muir (Suicidal Tendencies) had a huge war of words with an eventual physical fight (Chuck Billy went through a door trying to seperate)… Muir called Mustaine a “slobbering kook!”.
As much as i love megadeth… Mustaine knows how to rub people up the wrong way!
Seriously, the key to this “big four tour” ever happening is for everyone to stop being such asses and get along. First you got Dave saying shit about Lars, then Kerry getting rumours off Lars, then Scott hearing things anout Dave off Lars, then Kerry saying shit about Dave, and then Tom saying stuff about Dave. Silently in the corner sit James H, Jeff, James L and Charlie not giving a shit.

yeah, Kerry King doesn’t think Anthrax are up to par (correct), Araya telling it like it is about Mustaine.. Respect to them, they could make a lot of money doing a ‘big four’ and still might, but at least there’s no bullshit fake love.
Get Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Slayer and fuggit, even the current Hatebreed crew. Metallica released an amazing album, but like Anthrax – the live show doesn’t deliver – and who expects it to? They’re old men. Gary Glitters of metal. Give it up, you had your glorious reign; only tarnishing your own name.

There doesn’t seem to be any accounting of peoples taste in metal. I got talking to a young kid in a Machine Head ‘wolves’ t-shirt and he was saying how he thought Metallica were great but he didn’t like Lamb of God…..I don’t get it?

Vazzer – it isn’t just young fans. I’m in my thirties, been into metal for twenty plus years, love Pantera, Sepultura, Machine Head, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, etc…but not over keen on Lamb of God. I don’t dislike them, but they just don’t excite me the way they should. Think I like the idea of them better.
Dave Mustaine’s voice is very annoying I think- I have tried several times to get interested because my kids like Megadeth but I prefer Lamb of God, Cradle of Filth, Machine Head, Job for a Cowboy and that sort of thing and SLayerarrrggggghhhhhh……!!!!!!****** of course!
