Four different covers? Sounds like a desperate attempt to get fans to buy four copies of the new album, so that Slayer might get a little closer to Metallica and Megadeth’s sales figures!

If they wanted to get closer to those figures, rambo, I’m sure they would do the same as Megadeth and Metallica have done for years on end: alter their musical style to the likes of the masses!

Megadeth had a million selling album in Rust In Peace while they were still playing thrash. Metallica’s …And Justice for All is by no means a commercial album, but quickly sold 2 million copies following it’s release. None of Slayer’s albums (Including the relatively commercial Seasons in the Abyss) have gone platinum in the US, despite being 19 years old and more. Maybe in the eyes of many, Metallica and Megadeth are just better?

‘In the eyes of many…’ means run of the mill, same old, same old- Slayer broke the mould- they had to change the cover of Christ Illusion cos it upset people- Metallica and Megadeth appeal to more people because they dont get off the fucking fence like Slayer, Machine Head and Lamb of god to name 3- Slayerarrrrgggghhhhh…..!!!! Cant wait til November

No I don’t like 50 Cent. I’m actually a very disillusioned Slayer fan. I’ve been listening to them for 17 years, own all their albums and have seen them 14 times. They haven’t released a truly great record since Seasons and the new songs are basically the same as their uninspiring recent output. I used to adore and Slayer in the early 90’s.

There has not been a really great Slayer album since Seasons. Theres been a few songs on the albums after which are pretty sick like dittohead, bitter peace, new faith, flesh storm to name a few. The singles i’ve heard from World Painted Blood are ok, Hate Worldwide is complete shit (Kerry wrote that one), if he stopped talking out of his arse and raping the whammy bar i might have a little more respect for him!!
I’ve got tickets for the last gig on the UK tour because they’re fantastic live and want to see them again!

Anyone know when the DVD for the Hammy Apollo gigs in october last year is out? It would be cool to see me and my friends in the pit! : )

I don’t understand you rambodude. If you’re “disillusioned” with Slayer why do you spend your well earned cash on their cds and gig tickets, would you not be better off spending it on something you actually enjoy?? I’m a 23 year fan of Slayer and while they went off the boil a bit in the 90’s, God Hates Us All and Christ Illusion were major returns to form. Hopefully World Painted Blood will be just as good!

Yeah, i dont know about the album cover(s) either.
Ive heard a few songs from the album they sound ok, the title track isnt great.
But with the album covers i think it would be cool if that part of world map was sold in that place.

there are only few guys who got the idea of the cover
issue. the idea is to sell respective 1/4 part cover in exactly that place. why would you need the whole world map. and why would the record company distribute all 4 to worldwide. doesn’t make sense.
