Slipknot’s Corey Taylor: “I Almost Joined Velvet Revolver”

Slipknot’s charismatic frontman Corey Taylor has confirmed that he nearly have replaced Scott Weiland in Velvet Revolver.
The Slipknot singer was being considered for the singer slot in Velvet Revolver following the departure of Scott Weiland. Taylor said, “I had a meeting with those guys , we did some demos together, and it just didn’t work — for whatever reason.”
He added, “It was just really cool. It was one of those things where it’s like I could have got to jam with legends, man, in my opinion. But, you know, it was cool, and I still know those guys, I still hang out with them, and I still have nothing but respect.”

Hah, that and he was almost Anthrax’s new singer. It’s like he’s desperately looking for a new band. If the guy doesn’t love Slipknot anymore he should just go!

I don’t think that its a case of him not loving Slipknot, I think he just totally loves what he does, and he wants to do ALL of it. The guy has two other bands (Stone Sour and that Junk Beer Band or whatever it’s called)and has been on loads of other peoples records as well. If he could be in three places at one time, you get the impression he’d do it!
I think he should disband Slipknot, he’s clearly not happy there. Why else would he be making all these guest appearances and doing demos with other bands? I think he should stick with Stone Sour, ‘cos Slipknot are just repeating themselves musically nowadays.
If that happened I would’ve killed myself. He is so overrated it’s not even funny. No doubt he’d say shit at VR gigs like that they’re the heaviest metal band on Earth.
people should stop saying he isn’t happy in slipknot, why else would he have spent these last 10 years in it?? he obviously loves his band and loves his career, so he should by all means feel free to do what he loves doing i,e singing and performing.
Corey has the drive and energy to front ten bands never mind two.Stone Sour is where his heart is,Slipknot is where his soul is and anything else that comes along is just an added bonus as far as i’m concerned.VR will find a replacement when they’re ready..i mean who wouldn’t want to work with Slash?…except Axel of course!!

This guy likes to be a part of everything. It’s might be cool for him to do a song or 2 with them. But i don’t think this would make Slipknot/Stone Sour or Velvet Revolver fans happy.
Corey Taylor definitely loves Slipknot, in fact I think only “The Clown” seems to bitch about being in the ‘Knot. But Stone Sour really need to get to work on a new albmu, they have a special place in my heart. I don’t think his voice would suit VR very much as mentioned above, I didn’t know he was going to join Anthrax!
