Soil Confirm Departures

Singer and drummer leave the Chicago metallers.

Singer A.J. Cavalier and drummer Tom Schofield have both confirmed that they have left Soil.

A statement from the remaining members of Soil reads: “I’m sure you are all wondering what is happening in the world of SOIL after all the rumors and statements that have been going around.

“Late last week we learned of A.J.’s intentions as he notified us of his ‘indefinite hiatus.’ Then we learned of Tom’s intentions, as did all of you, via the Blabbermouth statement he issued a few days ago.

“We have decided that the show must and will go on. We refuse to let the fans, promoters, and radio stations down on such short notice.

“We decided to ask our friends Jordan Lee [vocals; ex-SILVERGUN] and Mike Tignino [drums] from CHAINWAX to fill in.

“Both Jordan and Mike are awesome musicians and have been longtime SOIL followers and to us it is an honor to have them join us for the already confirmed shows.

“We will take full advantage of this opportunity to perform some classic songs we haven’t played in years and can promise you we will deliver a powerful and energetic show that will meet and surpass the standards we have always set for our live shows.

“You can either take a bad situation and make it worse, or you can rise above and make it a fun event that everyone can remember and walk away from having a good time. We plan on doing just that.

“So to the fans, come out to see some classics we haven’t played in ages, Have a good time and enjoy yourself! After all, that is what rock and roll is all about!”

is there any original members left in this band now? they havent been the same since Ryan left.

Amen Luke_X.

And Ryan didn’t exactly set the world ablaze with the new Drowning Pool stuff!

Destroying Dignity

they were a decent enough band back in the day but they’ve been shite for a while now and probably should call it quits, and does anyone really care about them anymore? same goes for drowning pool, reasonable bands but very much ‘of their time’

I’m really not into the kind of generic american metal made up of bands like SOil, Drowning Pool, Mudvayne, they may have had a few tunes back in the day but they’d be best calling it quits, or broadening out with the times, genere-wise.

TheCraigus

Ryan McCombs and Shaun Glass need to return as the first 2 Soil records are awesome and the others have been lacklustre. Although, that’s as unlikley as winning the lottery I’m hoping that one day the original band will get together. The Drowning Pool stuff hasn’t really set the world alight but I#’m prepaprede to buy them sometime soon and a tour wouldn’t hurt either. Maybe they could play Ozzfest **hint – hint**

Johnny Buc

They shed singers Anthrax-stylee!!! And they’re just as shit!!!

having been fortunate enough to have met the band a couple of times, i can say with a large degree of certainty that the heart and soul of the band resides within Tim and Adam. they’re still there!
