Sonisphere Add ‘Special Guests’ To Main Stage
Are Machine Head about to return to the Knebworth bill?
In a shocking move yesterday afternoon, the slot that had been vacated by Machine Head after their infamous fall-out with Sonisphere organizers has been reinstated with a ‘Special Guests’ slot.
With 2 of their members already on the bill that day, the rumour mill had initially suggested that Slipknot will be announced as the Special Guests but the smart money appears to be on Machine Head returning to the bill that they walked off of in dramatic circumstances.
This would certainly seem to solve everyone’s problems with Machine Head not letting their fans down, the Sonisphere organizers insuring that a band that were advertised as being part of the festival since it’s announcement will still be appearing and everyone getting to lose their shit during ‘Davidian’.
What would prompt a change of heart from Robb and the boys? If it is Machine Head on the bill, can they steal the festival and just how hard will it be for Durst and the Bizkit to follow the Bay Area titans?

Sonisphere will be headlined by Metallica and Linkin Park and will take place on August 1st – 2nd at Knebworth. Also on the bill will be Heaven & Hell, Nine Inch Nails, Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb Of God, Alice In Chains, Mastodon, Anthrax, Airbourne, Corey Taylor and Killing Joke.

Slipknot are abit to big.
It was posted on thrash hits that they had a reliable source saying it was machine head. Anyone else think the saturday will get another band now, just to even it out?
Also, 222,569 on the poll? and more than half thin NIN?

I seriously doubt it’s Slipknot, like everyone else has said, they’re too big for that slot. KsE and Gojira are too small for that slot. I’d stick a bet on Down.

I decided not to go to Sonisphere because Machine Head pulled out!!
The real indication that it’s Machine Head lies in the post on Sonisphere’s facebook the night before the special guests slot appeared. “Team Sonisphere just had great time in Finland check out the photos. Had a good chat with Phil and the Machine Head lads. They Talked about coming over for Kerrang! Awards said they might pop along to Knebworth to check out the show…”

Never going to happen. Nobody is stupid enough to roll over on a breach of contract especially not the MH legal team. They aint playing, you got more chance of it being someone totally unworthy like I dunno, Daughtry, or Billy Ray Cyrus’s kid than anyone of worth.
It better be a great band (who the f..k can match Machine Head anyway???). Or I am collecting my bottles of piss starting from today

As much as i love machine fucking head and i much as i wanna see them tear a fucking huge hole in knebworth i think they wouldnt go back cause of the way they was treeted after the bizkit got announced so my money is on Korn just for the nu-metal linkand there playing other sonispheres =)

cheers charlie and korn and the bizkit did play slots together at downlaod this year so mayby the organisers have seen how good the idea was they may want the same for sonisphere but could be wrong as the bill is so diverse with so many diffrent bands playing over the 2 days hope im right with Korn if not im hopeing for a megadeth exclusive show
The Machine Head rumour comes from a good source I believe, let’s hope it’s true, they’re the reason I bought my ticket in the first place.
mabye it will be megadeth although im not sure if dave would be happpy at being fourth on the bill behind limp bizkit and metallica
It’s not Megadeth, they’re busy in LA with the video for the new single and a photoshoot.
My guess would by MH.. or Down. I think if it was Korn or Slipknot it would of leaked.
I don’t like MH, so i’ll be happy with Down.
