Fightstar are shit and fake, the whole american accent even when talking (only sometimes, which makes it weirder) is very fucking gay. Madina Lake, this one doesn’t really need to be spoke about, and it won’t be.

This was a disappointing announcement. The first announcement was incredible, but the latest two have been let-downs. Let’s hope next week won’t be “HADOUKEN AND PHIL COLLINS, YEAAAAAAAAH”.

So glad I only spent forty quid to reserve a ticket! Looks like I’ll be going for half a day just to see Rammstein!

I thought we were getting the last headliner?

I don’t know if I should be saying this now but I thought that was decent. I think everyones problems with it is that it was different. Anyone who was on Soni forums last year would know they explicitly said it was NOT a metal festival. From a rock point of view there’s not that much to complain about.
It’s might not be completely mind blowing but they didn’t say it was gonna be.

There’s still a lot more bands to be announced and after the maiden/rammstein and big 4 announcements they can afford to throw a couple small ones in. I think if people jus be patient, have an open mind and acknowledge that metal isn’t the only genre in the world, they can enjoy what’s shapin up to be a good festival.

Oh and from my knowledge a huge announcement next week, says my friend who loves soni forums. But sounds like n oldish band cuz they ‘thought they would never play again’

Sonisphere = load blown early (as I predicted). Can’t see it getting much better in future announcements either.

Hard to figure out what crowd they are targeting with that lineup too.

Anyway, the rest of the lineup as far as I’m concerned is pretty solid. Gallows, Apocalyptica and FfaF are all great in my view, And Fightstar aren’t bad either. Haven’t actually heard of Family Force 5 or Skunk Anansie until now, but I’ll check them out and make my own mind up.

And, along with the rest, I’m very interested to see who will be main support to Maiden on the Sunday night (I know it looks like they’re playing the Saturday on the lineup, but Rammstein have confirmed on their website they’re playing the Saturday)

Fucking ecstatic about Gallows and pretty happy with Fightstar (yes i like them, get over it) I’ve heard Skunk Anansie are good, so i’ll check them out. Apocalyptica is pretty groovy, and i know people like FFAF, but Madina Lake and Family Force 5 are fucking pathetic. Not really impressed with that batch, although Gallows are a very good anouncement and you could do worse than Apocalyptica. The first anouncement was great Maiden, Slayer, Anthrax, Rammstein! In comparison this anouncements awful! But what’s to stop Soni anouncing an amazing crop next time.

I’m still pulling for Soundgarden to play Sonisphere….not that I need another reason to go! Despite this recent announcement, I’m still heavily leaning towards attending Sonisphere than Download.

I honestly thought it was going to be amazing, I went to bed early and dreamt of the new bands that I was hoping for and I got out of bed and went straight to find out and I cannot belive I got out of bed to learn that Fightstar are in a festival with Iron Maiden, Rammstein, Slayer and my favourite band Fear Factory. How in the hell are Fightstar able to get into Sonisphere?!?! I was really hoping for Soundgarden SOAD or heck Ozzy Osbourne but FIGHTSTAR?! Don’t like the other bands as well (except Gallows), gives me a excuse to go and get some drinks and let the kids mosh away! to some Busted inspired Metal!

Disapointing, but I saw Skunk Anansie back in 1999 and they were awesome. And Apocalyptica are an excellent warm up act. I don’t mind Gallows and the rest don’t float my boat but that just meens more time in the beer tent whilst I wait for all those kick ass headliners they already announced. Plus there’s hopefully more announcements next week so it’s all good really.

Kerrang-tastic! Having been to both festivals last year, I can safely say that whilst Sonisphere’s model for having no significant gaps between the bands on the main 2 stages is pretty smart, it’s only smart if the quality of the bands makes it worth watching all of them. Headliners aside, I can’t imagine wanting to spend £££ on having to watch most of the bands at Knebworth this year with no real alternative – multi-stage model like Donington might cause a few clashes but at least gives you choices.
