Sonisphere Announcement Coming Next Week

terrybezer / News / 24/02/2010 15:54pm

The festival race will heat up next week with a new announcement next week. Warning: contains festival maths!

We play Festival maths around these parts quite often but with Sonisphere (Thonithphere to our podcast friends), it’s that extra bit tricky.

Things we do know: The announcement is coming on march 1st. That’s this coming Monday (FYI).

Things we’re going to speculate: Having a look at the Warped tour line-up, Enter Shikari have the same Sonisphere shaped gap in their scheduling as Bring Me The Horizon. Go on, go to the Warped Tour site and see for yourself.

Bad Religion – They’ve not played the UK for ages and they’re doing Rebellion fest on August 5th and that’s pretty close to Sonisphere, innit?

And we’re out. See, we told you it was tricky!

All will be revealed here on Monday!

Look at some of the high voltage bands aswell, such as BLS and Clutch, I wouldnt be surprised if they ended up at Soni.

Im expecting maybe Down aswell

mikey2904

I expect Down to considering they wanted to do last years and also they where at download o and think there realising there new album so I think there play sonisphere :-)

noobpotato

can see clutch and devildriver with those 2 aswell. Hoping for something big though.

Sepultura have just announced a July tour, Gallows said at a gig that they probably won’t be at Download, The Prodigy are playing at the MK Bowl a few days before

The Devils Reject

Sepultura have a 7 day gap on there tour schedule in whihc sonisphere is held in between those days….coincidence?

please don’t be Enter Shitari >_<

ben gillie

down, black label society, pearl jam, soundgarden and airbourne and prodigy from what i have been hearing

Sepultura, Down, DevilDriver and Clutch would be great. I really don’t care about Prodigy. I can’t stand them.

Grubbins

C’mon Venom…

Soundgarden are no way. Pearl Jam are unlikely. Down seem likely but suck something rotten. Other than that everything is just “Blah”.

JoeBass

I hope its not Enter Shikari or Bring me The Horizon, really cant be arsed with them. I’m hoping one of them will be Soundgarden, they gotta play one of the festivals!!!! I agree with hoping they get some of the High Voltage lot, Down, Clutch, BLS, and Devildriver would be good too.

Wilfium

Down, Devildriver, Trivium, Sepultura and Clutch is just a guess… but it would be awesome if they did :D

Better not be fuckin enter shikari, hope its testament cuz that would be fukin awesome, or carcass

Destroying Dignity

er….bring me the horizon were already announced a month ago!

at least it cant be worse than them…can it?

down, BLS and bad religion would be excellent news, maybe they would be nice enough to get chimaira, devildriver and exodus too!

saunders

well up for this announcement down dont suck anything apart from your mum you clarn

Phantasmagasm

Fuck Enter Shikari.

mick bigman

yeah fuck fuck enter shikari

that’s why i love soni no hype just say they gonna announce and blow people away like with the iron maiden/rammstein announcement

Steve515

Fuck Prodigy ive seen them 4 times at different festivals 2 iow festivals and reading and download

well.. For me i would love Kamelot, Cain’s Offering, Alestorm and Soulfly to be added to Sonisphere.. All are amazing imo and i would love to see them all live.. But anyway.. My all time favourite band is headlining, so they will all be icing, but so cool if they all do.. And also Epica and Finntroll too.. Trollhameren when getting drunk, great drinking music..

Black Label Society,Clutch,Heaven and Hell, Trivium, Disturbed, Sepultura and Down. Now that would be fuckin killer :)

michael maggs

i want judas preist, especially if they do a heavy set ( songs such as painkiller, judas rising, dissadent agressor ect) and for once play the song nostradamus!!!!!

Gallows said on a radio interview in Aus that they would be playing sonisphere.

DOWNLOAD HAHAHA!!!

Look at the other Sonisphere line-ups for AFTER of just before the Knebworth gig.
Thats the best bet of bands likely to end up at Knebworth (So long as they ain’t at DL).

So long as devildriver also play download I don’t care who soni gets, I can see maybe the haunted, trivium, down and maybe the answe at soni mind you

Josh (origamikid)

Enter Shikari and Bring me the Horizon?

May I be first to say -clears throat-

AAAAAAHHHHWWWW THATS NOT METAL!

System Of A Down!? haha =P

thought i`d throw in a joke people

I reckon HIM, Shikari, DevilDriver, Down, Frank Turner, Sepultura and Gallows are quite likely

They may well be still working on their new album by August but I hope The Sword are announced after what happened last year….

Maybe all the Mind Bullets being aimed at Rob Zombie from every metal fan in the UK will force him to give up whatever he was planning that weekend and actually play the UK?

…Well one can dream

Destroying Dignity

@JDF do u speak on behalf of all metal fans now? personally i can’t stand rob zombie, i won’t lose sleep if he’s not at sonisphere!

JustSean

I’m just hoping MH are right about Bad Religion.

Be my top three bands all at Soni. Dream festival? I think so!

Sabaton.

Which is a pretty good guess I’d say, as they’re announcing something tomorrow.

Loving the possibility of any of the bands people have been mentioning – not gonna lie I have actually just scrolled down the page and been like “Oh they would be epic” at all of the bands you guys above have mentioned (except Sepultura – bleh)

One question to anyone – why have people assumed that if a band is playing Download they won’t be playing Sonisphere? Limp Bizkit played both last year – AFTER being announced as a Download exclusive, Architects, Sylosis, Buckcherry and Thunder also played both and Faith No More (another Download exclusive) and The Prodigy played Reading & Leeds as well as Download…
