This story sickens me. I am a huge Machine Head fan but it seems to me that Robb Flynn is acting like a baby and throwing his toys out of his gold plated pram.
How about that Machine Head go onstage before Limp Bizkit and blow them off the stage? Or how about the play the second stage and draw the fans away from Limp Bizkit altogether?
I wholeheartedly sympathise with Robb for feeling shafted by being shunted down the bill, but does he not realise that every other band are also being shunted down? How about they all pull out to?
OR how about they spend the time that they WON’T be playing Sonisphere to write a new album? The Blackening was a genre defining album, but isn’t it about time they proved that it wasn’t a lucky shot? Since it was released The Blackening has been usurped by the likes of Lamb of God’s Wrath and even Steel Panthers Feel The Steel(!). And that’s before DevilDriver’s Pray for Villains is released.
It seems as if the follow up to The Blackening is becoming Chinese Democracy part two, and we will be lucky to see another Machine Head release sometime before 2015.
Seriously Robb, stop fucking about and play the gig for the fans that bought overpriced tickets just to see you play.

I can’t believe it, I buy my ticket and the two bands I really want to see pull out. Thanks Fear Factory & Machine Head, I hope the promoters can pull something special out the bag now and make the price of the ticket worth it.

I’m a bit divided on this whole issue. I’m a big Machine Head fan, and I think they definitely have a case, they hav been screwed over big time, and they shouldn’t have to roll over and accept it. However I do feel they’re taking it out on the fans. I think a much better protest would have been to come out on stage say ‘Fuck the promoters and fuck Limp Bizkit’ and launch straight into Bay of Pigs, and then watch and smile as LB try to follow them

I agree with machine head, I mean the had an agreement with the organisers for that slot, and were screwed over practically last minute, I mean yeah their fans will be disappointed but in all fairness machine head have earned the right to at least have their contracts honored. Besides the UK has seen machine head lik 5 times since the blackening came out, so quit whining, us irish have seen them once, in a small venue

Why couldn’t Machinehead play the slot they were given and Limp bizkit play the 2nd stage slot. They shouldn’t have to move for some boallsacks no-one has given a shit about for years
