Sonisphere Organizer Talks Slipknot
2 of the members of Slipknot are already at Sonisphere, can we expect the other 7 to turn up?
Metal Hammer spoke to Sonisphere festival organizer Stuart Galbraith about the possibility of Slipknot playing at this year’s Sonisphere festival and here was his response:
“We haven’t booked Slipknot. I’m happy to see Shawn there and I’m happy to see Corey there, if any of the other members want to turn up that’d be great, but we haven’t booked Slipknot.”
Sonisphere will be headlined by Metallica and Linkin Park and will take place on August 1st – 2nd at Knebworth. Also on the bill will be Heaven & Hell, Nine Inch Nails, Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Alice In Chains, Mastodon, Anthrax, Airbourne, Thin Lizzy, Corey Taylor and Killing Joke.

nevermind, the lineup still kicks ass. slipknot would’ve been nice though.

I don’t think Slipknot should play, it’ll just turn into Download but not as good otherwise, get some bands we haven’t seen already this year!
I think there’s more than enough nu-metal on the bill already. If anything they should get more classic bands like Slayer and Megadeth. Failing that, bands playing old-school rock or thrash like Buckcherry and Municipal waste.
Didn’t say they haven’t booked Megadeth though…

Slipknot are incredible live, they shat all over Metallica at Sonisphere in Holland. As did KoRn. And Metallica were pretty good!
