Sonisphere Reviews: Anthrax & Alien Ant Farm
The Bush returns at Sonisphere!
Anthrax
One word sums up Anthrax today – flawless. Smashing through the barricades with a thunderous ‘What Doesn’t Die’, it’s mind-blowing to think that this incarnation of Anthrax haven’t played together for 4 years. Bush’s voice is nothing short of sensational, as his enthusiasm and energy.
‘Caught In A Mosh’, ‘Anti-Social’, making an entire field full of people lose their fucking mind during ‘Bring The Noise’ and a finale of ‘Indians’, John Bush and Anthrax came to Knebworth anc came, saw and motherfucking conquered.

Alien Ant Farm
It was always a bizarre booking but Alien Ant Farm managed to play pretty well. However, the overwhelming problem is that the band’s songs were never world-beating anthems and the years have seen the songs date quite badly. The bassist and his infuriating gurning are still as irritating as we remember them being and although it’s a great moment for the band to get one more moment in the sun, that’s all it should be and they really should return to the ‘where are they now?’ file. Pronto.

No way i loveee alien ant farm! i guess you werent into them first time round. ive been waiting to see them for years! its so rare for them to play here also love anthrax too. shame i missed sonisphere oh well ill get over it.
I can’t wait for the new Anthrax album, they should re record the vocals with Bush. As for AAF you know they got booked to play Smooth Criminal in the wake of MJ’s death.
I thought AAF were great. The bassist was very funny, especially when he sat on the roadie. Anthrax were awesome of course, I was in the pit for most of it and had an absolute blast.
I concur…Anthrax was a definate hightlight of the weekend!!! I was in the crowd and can still hear in my head..”cry for the Indians…” Awesome!!!
Totally with you, Deb.
“Ooooooooooooooonly!”
i hadn’t realised exactly who John Bush was and thought it was a new , new lead singer (dumb i know!) but after the absolutely awesome set was saying to my pals how amazingly comfortable and well fitting he seemed to be. the whole set was a showcase of how good they were/are/could be?!?!?!?! truly a highlight of the whole weekend!
Bit harsh really, I thought AAF were great, the singer really blew me away and the bassist was a joker. Never heard anything from them apart from movies and smooth criminal but they won me over at soni, would check out again.
Was surprised they had a huge crowd too, one of the biggest of the weekend considering they were first on.
Agree on Anthrax tho they rocked, Bush was sick and it was pretty impressive that he had only been back in the band a short while.
Hells yeah!!! John Bush is the best vocalist in heavy music!
Bring John Bush back to Anthrax, he’s the only man for the job! I would love to hear ‘Inside out’ live again, amazing song. Good luck!
Sounds like a great show was had. Def harsh on AAF, the singer is good & they have some great songs too.

Saw Bushthrax in ‘99 on the “Volume 8″ tour and again in ‘03 on “WCFYA.” I was mortified when Frankie and Bush left the band, was relieved when Frankie came back for the reunion, but never felt the same without Bush. Let’s just pretend the last few years never happened, and get back to the momentum everyone felt after WCFYA!
Bring back Bush!!!! Never should have sent him packing in the first place.
I agree, hopefully John Bush will return to Anthrax. They are a much stronger band with him, and I am a huge fan of the Belladonna years, but the Bush years are amazing, and we could all use some more of the Bush Anthrax Metal!
with songs like safe home, think about an end,and the classic black lodge. you can not go wrong. Bush rules, in this case.
YES, BRING BACK BUSH !!!!!
He was AMAZING during his time with the band & hopefully he will come back to continue the MAGIC.
thanks
jason
C´mon John, you and halford are the bests metal singers ever, we want you back in anthrax.
As Elvis said…. Johnny be bood!
Un fare il bischero…pensaci!
Niamo icchè t’aspetti!
Bring back Bischero!
Anthrax was going to come to our town but when I found out Bush wasn’t the bad (yeah afters your college years you lose touch) I wasn’t nearly as interested. Bush made Anthrax one of the top metal bands of all time.
Az Anthrax igazi hangja John Bush! Scott bácsi ne tökölj, ha jót akarsz adni a népnek, akkor visszaveszed John-t!

John Bush is the ONLY man that’s right for the lead singer spot in Anthrax. He’s an AMAZING singer you guys have to do whatever it takes to get him back in the fold. Without him in the band Anthrax isn’t even close to being the powerhouse it is as when he is in the band. Get him back in today!!
Unlike most bands whose music wanes after time, Anthrax gets better and better as the years pass. They reached their peak with WCFYA and if John comes back, they can resume their journey where it left off, and continue to make awesome music.
I love 80’s and 70’s pubic hair. But just after that I love what Bush did for anthrax. However, I still am wondering what the last guy would have sounded like…?? I never got a chance to hear him.
p.s poor joey Bella-I hope he is doin ok..
Jon Bush leaving thrax single handedly was the worst. Joey…Dan….sit down, you don’t measure up. Bush is Anthrax, Joey was just holding the mic.
we don’t hane anyjhon else please come back to anthrax for good!!!
