placebo are one of the few indie type bands i actually like, wouldn’t go to one of their gigs tho so this is an easy way for me to see them. quite pleased.

fear factory should be wicked too, papa roach are a decent festival band but shite at their own gigs (how i got conned into that i’ll never know)

henry rollins should be amusing but BMTH are just poor, if we’re gonna get deathcore at least give us something decent like the red shore or carnifex

Fear Factory are also not Sonisphere exclusives. That menas they will probably show up somewhere. Reckon Download is the only real option.

Mark, simmer down there my champion. Yes I have heard of Bloodstock. My thinking is that:
1] they may not be able to afford them this year as with a new album out, their profile (and price tag) will be much bigger in 09 than 08.
2] Bloodstock have announced some fucking killer bands already, which makes me wonder where FF would fit on their bill.

I could be wrong (as could you mind), but my money is on a good Download slot.

Papa Roach was ok back in the day, but the last album or 2 are pretty lame.

King of heavy metal, you sound like such a prick, wanting to bottle bands, maybe a different festival is better for you ie Reading or Download, we don’t tolerate that behaviour at Sonisphere.

As to the lineup, it is already one of the best lineups in Europe once again, it’s only December, plent of time and bands to turn this lineup around if you don’t like it.

Look at other festivals, Download is yet to announce a single band yet, but always has a poor lineup and a crap atmosphere, it’s a no-brainer

Bring Me the Horizon are perfectly good, Suicide Season was an awesome album.
Papa Roach are very fun live.
Henry Rollins is just a legend.
Placebo are absoloutely huge and a great announcement. However ‘tah metulz’ may not appreciate them. They are very enjoyable live I must say.

This lineup is already looking pretty amazing.

I love Placebo, but they just don’t fit in at a metal festival. Their singer is pretty um…..colorful, and I don’t think that the people who came for metal will appreciate them.

Sonisphere is looking great. I have nothing against Papa Roach or Placebo, i’m not a fan but wouldn’t mind seeing a set from them.

I’m a bit late in reading this, but I wish I had the extra vacation time. Rammstein AND Placebo? I’ve never seen Rammstein live (it’s been years since they played in the States) and I fucking LOVEEEEEE Placebo. One of my all time favorite bands. I have feeling this gig will end up being like the first time I saw them at a gig in NYC for a local radio station. They were on the same bill as Kid Rock (yes, you read that correctly) and Fred Durst was hosting and he lead a chant of “faggot” as Placebo came out. Not fun for the band, but a fucking great live band all the same.
