Soulfly Working On New Album

max_cavalera901Max Cavalera is comparing it to ‘Reign in Blood’. Time to get excited!

Soulfly are currently in the studio working on their new album with Blabbermouth reporting that bassist Bobby Burns posted the following on the band’s official forum: “We’ve been playing together better than ever in recent times and we’re all really excited to get to work on the new shit!”

Max Cavalera has also recently been saying the following about the album: “We’re thinking about making the songs a little shorter, so if you can imagine maybe a little bit like Minor Threat mixed with ‘Reign In Blood’ mixed with Soulfly, with still some world music, but much smaller, and the songs not so long — shorter. It’ll be more aggressive than ‘Conquer’ even, because it’ll be shorter — it’ll be like when Slayer did ‘Reign In Blood’, kind of thing.”

Minor Threat meets ‘Reign In Blood’ with world music elements? Sounds good to us!

sweet want a new cavalera conspiracy album as well!

no1 can touch reign in blood, but i love punk and hardcore, so it sounds good 2 me :-)

I will definitely buy this when it comes out. Sounding good.

I just hope its way better than conquer cause it was balls

max should go back to the old school Sepultura sound. this rapcore/nu metal shit he’s doing is really gay.

Conquer was pretty good, but Dark Ages was way better :D
Personally my fave album was Primitive though, if people want a Seps sounding album, then why not get a Seps album?
Or ultimatly wait and see if Max and Igor churn out another CC album ;)

max should go back to the old school Sepultura sound. this rapcore/nu metal shit he’s doing is really gay and its not like him.
PLEASE MAX GET THE OLD SEPULTURA BACK. where are the inquisition symphony, mass hypnosis, beneath the remains in soulfly?
seriously
i would kill for a sepultura reunion. noone needs to remind me of that not being inevitable.

Soulfly should play in Ozzfest or the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest in 2010. It would be perfect timing to support the new record, plus they would be fuckin killer on the bill. Anybody with me on this one?
