Static-X Frontman Announces Solo Album Release Date
Static-X frontman, Wayne Static, has announced the release date of his first solo album.
The album, elegantly entitled ’Pighammer’, will be available from October 4th on Dirthouse Records and is apparently the product of his dark past.
According to a press release the album has a “disarming raw quality of heavy driving guitar riffs and lyrics that will take hold of your bowels” and that the music will take you “into the mind of Static’s warped mind”.
As for the concept of the album, I think we’ll leave that to Wayne to explain in his own words, “It’s about a mad plastic surgeon, with a pig fetish, that likes to convert hot chicks into pigs. It is the total opposite of what a plastic surgeon would do. He has this crazy hammer device made from a pig foot. The images of the surgery in the CD package are only a dark comedic visualization of the real theme of the album, which is my transformation.”
The first single, ‘Assassins of Youth’ (that’s a drug reference) was inspired by Wayne’s final days as a booze-imbibing, drug-taking party animal. “I wrote this song while living in a hotel room, listening to Pink Floyd, drinking Crown and doing whippits,” (that’s inhaled drugs such as solvents) explains Wayne.
Wayne first crawled onto the music scene 12-years-ago when he released the first album from industrial reprobates Static-X called ‘Wisconsin Death Trip’.
