Adler: That’s not Guns N’ Roses. He should have called that W, dash, A, dash, R. W-Axl-Rose, W-A-R. I think it would have worked out much better for him. Because Guns N’ Roses is five guys. The last song I recorded was ‘Civil War’ and tell me if I’m wrong, but I know I’m not, after that song it’s a completely different band.”

The dude is spot on. The problem I have is when people let the name get in the way of appreciating the album for what it is. I’m going to see them live on the 27th, and I don’t really care what they call the band, I’m still going to have an awesome time. I agree, W.A.R. would have been the perfect name, but I refuse to get hung up on it and spend ages whining about how “DATZ NUT GUN Z ROOZES”.

GNR has been dead since 1993. RIP.
I totally agree T.V, people should take Chinese Democracy for what it is, and stop living in the past about the old GNR. And also, Steven Adler should move on, he fucked up and got kicked out of the band. I for one always preferred Matt Sorum. *Controversial*

Adler is spot on. The true Guns N Roses will always be Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven. The early/mid 90’s line-up with Gilby and Matt Sorum was a weakened one. The current line-up is little more than a tribute band.

When Chinese Democracy came out I listened to it not as a Guns N Roses album but as a new Rock album written by someone who USED to be in GNR, the same way I did with Velvet Revolver.
My conclusion is this… Chinese Democracy is still a shit album, at best it has one or 2 interesting ideas but it fails on every level. Velvet Revolver at least had a good couple tunes and ones that to me had a GNR vibe to them even though I wasn’t looking for it. Slash’s solo album was OK but didnt blow me away BUT Fergie from Black Eye Peas owned the cover of Paradise City (I brought the album but downloaded that song) I think she should be the new Vocalist in Velvet Revolver and they should do more covers of GNR
