System Reunion Update

toxicity_90Shavo Odadjian isn’t doing the best job of dispelling rumours of a System Of A Down reunion.

Yesterday, we brought you the breaking news that System Of A Down are plotting a reunion. the word started with SOAD bassist Shavo Odadjian said “Are u guys ready for System??’ on his Twitter.

Well, he has since tried to pour cold water on that particular fire. He’s not really succeeded but he’s tried. His latest Twitter post reads: “About my “are u guys ready for System?”. I’m not sayin we are back but, if so? U guys ready? SoRry for gettin u guys amped. I’m just seeing”

Not really a denial, is it? Download will be announcing the first batch of bands for 2010’s festival in two weeks and Sonisphere will also have their finger on this pulse. Let’s just see if anything happens, eh?

Rage, Soundgarden and System for Download saturday night? ;)
AC/DC Friday and Metallica to close? :)

I can’t see System playing Sonisphere. And @Scott, I also can’t see RATM playing Download because then you’d be paying to see them and they’ve promised a free gig ;)

My bet is AC/DC on the Friday night, Metallica or Soundgarden on the Saturday night and System on the Sunday night.

Why would System headline the Sonisphere 2nd stage when they could headline the mainstage at a much bigger festival?

Does anybody think Andy C can pull off Soundgarden and System and if not, Soundgarden to headline Soni 2nd stage?

Last bit of speculation – didn’t SOAD say they would only reunite to open for a 1988 lineup G’nR? If so, a G’nR, SOAD, Soundgarden Saturday at Download would be one hell of themed stage. Not gonna happen, but oh so awesome if it did.

I wish these bands would give you a clear answer to a clear question yes? or no?

@Elliot RATM may have promised a free gig, they NEVER said there would be nothing done before or after did they? ;)

I think RATM and Soundgarden are in with a shout for Download to be honest.

System yes i can see them playing. And @Shane No they just said they were on hiatus, nothing was ever said as to why they would decide to come back. And with Scars on Broadway not doing much and Serj not seeming to do much, plus all the other biggish groups coming back, it seems perfect timing for a big festival show.

ha. its like saying i want to fuck your brains out. not with my cock. but would you be interested in my cock as im gonna fuck your brains out.

a cunning way to try and deceive us into thinking there is, but isnt, but is a reunion.

COOL! In denial!

We’re the cruel regulators smoking cigaro, cigarooo ^^

Call it what you want. After 5 years, and 2 albums apart, getting them back together now is a reunion in my book!

@Scott, I stand corrected ;)

Well, in contrast to my comment earlier, I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they played Download and did a ‘Machine Head’ at Sonisphere, i.e. confirmed, and everyone knows theyre confirmed, but entered on the bill as ‘Special Guests’.

nailmann

they better play ireland..

If they are getting back together (and face it the chances are pretty good now) I want them to at least be playing somewhere near me. they were one of the few groups ive wanted to see since I was little but never really got the chance.

Shavo has a thumb in his bum.
