Testament Speak Out About New Album!
Testament guitar Eric Peterson talks about the follow-up to last year’s all-conquering ‘The Formation Of Damnation’ album. Get your tickets for Testament’s Metal Hammer-sponsored tour now!
Peterson has said to Metal Asylum: “We’ve got a lot of riffs left over, songs maybe one or two ready to go. After touring is done in September/October, I will start putting stuff together and hopefully the new album will be out in 2010. A couple of songs are complete, just not vocally. One song is a ballad and we haven’t had a slow one since ‘Low’ (‘Trail of Tears’) and this one is incredible, I love it. It reminds me of something off Scorpions ‘Lovedrive’.”
“(The new album is) probably more melodic and more heavy; the best of both worlds, like “The Formation of Damnation.” Looking at more thrash on the new record, but yet there will be a ballad. More of everything less of nothing!”
Testament will head out on a Metal Hammer sponsored tour in July. Dates are:
July 20th – Sheffield Corporation
July 21st – Glasgow Garage
July 22nd – Newcastle 02 Academy
July 23rd – O2 Academy Bristol

Nice. Looking forward to this. The last album was badass as fuck.
Totaly, i got a buncha folks into Testament thanks to their last album!
A balled eh? …cool!
Yep…Formation of Damnation is a GREAT album. When most bands loose their edge over their years…Testament has honed their skills. The riffs are just to sick to sit idle…gotta bang your head a bit. I just put in a 4 thousand dollar car stereo and that CD hasnt been changed for days… I suspect it will be there for the rest of the month.
