Nobody has read metallicas website which confirms Mastodon as fourth act for eastern Europe sonisphere festival. Surely that will be the line up for Uk? Plus Mustaine has said it’s not happening so I think it’s unlikely. Gutted

Metallica will not be playing sonisphere knebworth this year as there is not room for them, they would need a head line slot, and seeming as the friday is a themed night that starts at 6pm and ends at 11pm it wont happen. just no space for it

Well, as much as I’d love to give a hell yeah, Megadeth has confirmed that the Big 4 tour isn’t happening yet. Mastodon got the 4th spot on Sonisphere.

If you think about it with Iron Maiden and Rammstein headlining the UK, the effects of the whole ego clash is reduced, not one of them will be headlining so i would have thought they would been more okay with all sharing the same stage, have them all in an order behind Iron Maiden, Metallica first up i mean they headlined last year, apparently their idea too they should be the nice guys and step up, give them all equal stage time something like Metallica then, Anthrax, Megadeth then Slayer exchanging them how ever.

I’m daring a “meh”. I’m genuinely not excited about seeing Metallica live again unless they do a Maiden and concentrate on older material.

Having seen them all fuck knows how many times, I’d rate them as Anthrax best live, then Slayer, then ‘deth, then Metallica.

No real favourite out of the four but I’d say that’s the order I’ve most enjoyed them in.

Metallica won’t headline because no band headlines the same festival two years in a row. They could do a secret gig like Download 2003 and play the saturn stage on the friday but not a proper headlining set.

Megadeth>Slayer>>>Metallica>Anthrax

Ummm, hell yeah! I can’t see it happening though, not in a thousand years. Metallica won’t play if they’re not headlining and Megadeth won’t play underneath Metallica.

Megadeth will most likely play Download, and so will Metallica as they have not released a UK date yet for 2010, and Download is the most likely place they will be….this said Megadeth will probably want to play Download ,what with AC/DC heavily rumoured etc.
