I planned and taught a lesson to year 7’s that was based entirely on Fear Factory’s track Securitron! In fact the lesson was part of a scheme of work I planned that also used the Rammstein moment from the intro to xxx; and other teachers had to teach it to their year 7 classes aswell!!!

I was worried that I would face some kind of comeuppance; but in fact people loved teaching it, and my year 7’s loved it (well, 2 of them anyway)

One of my teachers beats him! He was in an awesome band called Reculver & toured with loads of people inc Slash & Megadeth…BEAT THAT!!!

One of our teachers had metallica and machine posters on his wall and he got sacked but thats not that metal compared to this.

One of the music teachers at my school was into metal. He had a huge Metallica tattoo on his arm, but he had to cover it up. His fave band was Meshuggah

If it was this country, we could claim it’s in his religion to play metal (once metal is recognised as a religion, next year)

This is ridiculous. At no point have they claimed, for example, that he is showing the kids videos of his band’s performance, or doing satanic rituals on the desk, or in fact doing anything other than two very different, very separate jobs. If he wants to teach, he should. There are too many crap teachers doing the same job simply because they aren’t qualified to do anything else.

I don’t necessarily think it’s because it’s a METAL band that they are booting him out, but because of the live act. They’re probably thinking that he is setting a bad example for the kids and influencing this kind of activity. I mean, the teacher is the kid’s go-to guy. If he does something, every kid in his class is going to believe it is right and appropriate.

That’s not to say playing metal is wrong, but I can see where they’re coming from. I’m sure they would have no problem if it was just a normal metal band and not one with blood and naked chicks in the live show.
