They Sold Their Souls To H&M

Black Sabbath are to join Motorhead and The Ramones in becoming a high-street brand. Ace.

It’s easy to get that rush of blood to the head when you walk into a pub and see an All Bar One-esque gimp in a Led Zep shirt, isn’t it? A Motorhead shirt on someone wearing a blazer and skinny jeans, you say? Get fucked, we say.

Anyways, we digress. Black Sabbath are the latest band that are to have their logo and imagery flaunted on the rails of a major high-street chain. H&M have started stocking the shirt that you find below.

Is it a bit pissy to be getting annoyed by this or is this the most ridiculous thing to happen to Black Sabbath since Ozzy rhymed masses with masses in War Pigs?

Whatever will it be next? Arch Enemy t-shirts in Primark? The Rotted being played in Topshop? Oh, hang on a sec… that happened. WTF is going on?

For Your Malice

my mate was at the Tallica gig in Nottingham and it was full of clones and sceneos who didnt know any of the words and just stood there clapping and saying
“whooo hooo”.

makes me feel ill that wannabees are trying to get in on everything…..

For Your Malice

obviously not everybody at the nottingham gig but there were a lot of em…….

that t-shirt, more specifically where it is being sold, is quite disturbing…..

Meh
Apparently ‘Meh’ was too short to submit..

Meh

Didn’t Geezer write the lyrics to ‘War Pigs’?

So what if these T-shirts will be available in stores like H&M? That’s a positive thing, innit? Easier to get a hold of. The problem will be all the knobheads wearing it. In Norway, you just can’t get a hold of a bandshirt unless you’ve been to a concert and bought one there. Maybe they could comprimise by having a few “security questions”:

- I’d like to buy this T-shirt please
- Okay, when did Black Sabbath form?
- Uuuh…
- Whats the guitarists name?
- Uhm…
- Piss off ya wanker! No T-shirt for you!

It is a bit pissy to get up in arms about this. U wud hav got a t-shirt with their logo on it from elsewhere, but all of a sudden bcos it’s being made available in high street stores, the “mainstream”, these bands shud b frowned upon. Grow up! Who cares!? It’s a bloody t-shirt!

out of all the t shirt that h and m sell that one aint to bad i remember seeing a pink yellow and green motorhead symbol once and led zep one which had glitter shit and things least the sabbath one does look like sabbath

For Your Malice

in my opinion wearing a band`s t-shirt means you love that band and their music, and its a good way to socialise with people who like the same band, an ice breaker if you will.

anything else is fake and demeans the value of the t-shirt.

its the kind of crowd i dont want at concerts, that go because someone else they know is going, instead of going cos you wanna see the band.

call me a traditionlist if you will.

if sabbath fans buy em then all well and good, but some people will buy them because they like the look of it.

right with ya beezer!

Dude, i want an H & M GWAR t-shirt! that would be sweet!

I am looking forward to the day when you can get Burzum shirts in Top Shop.

How about some Anal Cunt t-shirts H&M?

A shop is a shop is a shop. Nothing is stopping trendy wankers going into Metal Malitia on Oxford Street to buy a shirt and nothing is stopping metalheads going into the H&M a few hundred yards down the road. It does leave a bad taste in my mouth though. A couple of years ago it was the “cool” thing to wear, I remember a pic of Caprice in a glittery Motorhead shirt and Robbie Williams in a Motley Crue shirt. A friend of an ex-girlfriend once asked me where I got my “fabulous” G N’ R tour shirt from and was surprised that I went all the way to the show just to buy a shirt. He couldn’t understand that I was actually at the concert AND bought the shirt as a souvenir.

can i have a mastodon h&m tshirt please

this is actually daft.
I do like the suggestion of security questions haha.
So what if H&M are selling it. Getting the name about and all that jazz.
Anyways, how many chances are you going to get to buy a Black Sabbath T-shirt at a sabbath concert?
Beats waiting for delivery from the ‘net aswell…
and what you’ll pay £15-£25 for a tee at a gig
Bet that tee costs a tenner outta H&M.

Viking, you can buy them at different alternative shops as well as a few record stores (like rock-line in K-town), as well as you can order, and I did remember seing Rolling Stones, Ramones, The Clash and Motorhead t-shirts at H&M (where Jonathan from Siernia also used to work, nice guy)…

just remember: these are bands, not brands… (yeah I did stumble upon a girl who thought Ramones was a brand, and she was “all into punk.” atleast she told….)

So, in around 5 years time we’ll be turning up Slayer shirts in St Luke’s Hospice shops?
