Tool To Headline Lollapalooza
Tool and The Killers are set to headline acclaimed Lollapalooza festival. The prog-metallers have also been talking about the songwriting process for their brand new album.
The festival, due to take place August 7th-9th at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, also includes acts such as Beastie Boys, Depeche Mode, Jane’s Addiction and Kings Of Leon.
Guitarist for Tool, Adam Jones, was quoted in an interview with Brad Angle of Guitar World magazine as saying, when asked how the songwriting process for the band’s new album was coming along, “It’s been coming along… great! [laughs] No, we’ve been on hiatus. I’m writing and [bassist] Justin [Chancellor]’s been writing, but [frontman] Maynard [James Keenan] has been working on his wine. We’ve all just been taking some time away from each other, which has been nice. I’ve also been working on producing some comics.”
Maynard James Keenan has also expressed his pessimism about the future of the CD when talking about working with A Perfect Circle band-mate Billy Howerdel, “I doubt if we’ll do any touring or, you know, do a full album,” he said. “We might do some one-off shows here and there if the timing’s right and it seems like a good vibe and a smart thing to do. But most likely we’ll just kind of concentrate on, you know, one or two songs at a time, rather than investing all the time and money and effort into making those plastic discs that no one cares about anymore.”

there not going to fly to england, then fly back like that for lollapalooza unless they were doing a proper tour !! and plus if their album was out!! by the sounds of it maynard is not to keen on the CD anymore!!
I agree, it’s not likely. But still, it’s improbable, not impossible. All we (as in those of us who are going to Sonisphere) can do is hope that if Tool aren’t there, that they announce some more quality bands. I can’t believe there’s been 2 or 3 announcements for download since the last sonis.
