Top 10 Download Festival Moments
Here we go. It’s on like Donkey Kong!
1. Slipknot play ‘Duality’.
Seriously, have you ever seen that many people sing and slam their ass off in your life!? What a moment. Relive it here! Jeez, we got chills watching it again.
2. Wes Borland’s outfit.
Seriously, what the fuck was with that outfit? Welcome back to the fold Wes, you mad bastard!
3. Motley Crue putting porn on the big screen.
“Is that really hardcore lesbianism they’re showing on that screen? I think it is, you know!”
4. Five Finger Death Punch arrive.
Donington, meet a band that you may not be aware of. They will rip your head off and shit down your neck. Exhibit A.
5. Def fucking Leppard.
Yes, sir. We will have some sugar poured on us. This one’s shot from the crowd but it’s bonkers nonetheless.
6. Marilyn Manson waffling like a lunatic.
Check this video out. The highlight is either the stunned look on the crowd’s face or the guy who shouts ‘are you drunk?”
7. David Coverdale’s between song patter.
Man, don’t we all wish we spoke like the Cove? What a guy! He makes Austin Powers sound like a common street urchin!
8. Volbeat’s ‘wall of love’.
Parting the sweating, adrenaline-soaked crowd, getting them to charge at each other and hug upon impact. Hilarious.
9. Mike Patton star-jumps to the intro of ‘We Care A Lot’.
Mr Motivator can jump off of a cliff for all that we care, Patton could take his place any day.
10. Anvil and Phil Anselmo jam onstage.
Anselmo wasn’t content to lay waste to thousands of people with Down. He had to come back and kill it with Anvil on their track ‘Winged Assassins’ too! Amazing!

Phil with Anvil was mega, good choice for #10.
A word of warning to anyone who plans to buy the Anvil DVD that’s just come out. I picked up a copy while out shopping at my local Morrison’s supermarket yesterday. Got the disc put in the case, went all the way home, made some dinner and got ready to veg out on the couch with Canada’s finest. Only to find the knucklehead at the supermarket had put in the disc for not ANVIL but instead ALVIN and the fuckin’ chipmunks. Beware people, this is not made up!!
lmao alvin and the chipmunks that fucking funnie.
Anywayz download was awesome, im sitting making a list of the gigs i wanna go to this year, but any1 else looking forward to dl 2010? (some1 told me they have all ready have a headliner) wit? :s
i cant wait for next year finally oldernough to go
and yeah i heard someone that maiden might be doing it cause arent the anouncing there tour dates the same month that andy copping said hes gonna announce the first headliner and really want a SOAD reunion would be epic
For me, you have to include Lawnmower Deth’s entire set, including the fishdance that took place to F.A.T. (Fascist and Tubby). That was immense!
Good call on Volbeat’s ‘Wall of Love’ as well. That was hilarious.
Well, i reckon the headliner thats arranged is Manowar.
I mean, how heavily rumoured were they for this year, but alas no announcement?
Would make sense.
What about the vocalist from Blackstone Cherry singing Sound Of Madness With Shinedown That Was Great
im sick of people pluging slipkont (this mag too) they were the same as the 4 times live that i have seen them and cant see how this was any better nothing different and jump the fuck up is not metal what so ever, band of the weekend faith but hey.
