AC/DC – The biggest rock band in the world roll in to Download to play a UK festival since they last owned Castle Donington in 1991. Hit after hit after motherfucking hit as the ultimate drinking man’s band will put on a show for every rock fan of all ages and backgrounds to worship. Der-ner nah ner-ner ner ner! ANGUS! Der-ner nah ner-ner ner ner! ANGUS!
Rage Against The Machine – The ear-drum bashing that we’re going to get during that “fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me” refrain at the end of Rage Against The Machine’s set. If yesterday’s victory show is anything to go by, this is a set you cannot miss!
Slash – Is Slash going to bring any of his special guests with him? We know that Lemmy’s around but will there be any sign of Ozzy, Kid Rock or the ridiculously fit Fergie?
The Damned Things – The sass and swagger of keith buckley leading the guys from Anthrax and FOB sounds amazing from the two MySpace tracks. We want to hear more, more, more and we’ll be getting exactly that on Sunday afternoon.
Bullet For My Valentine – The album’s sold by the truckload, their Islington academy show earlier this year was monstrous and this threatens to be a crowning moment for the band. Can they command a potential audience of around 60,000? We’ll find out on Friday night on the hammer-sponsored Ronnie James Dio stage!
As I Lay Dying – The Powerless Rise is a beast of an album and this could be their time! Pepsi max stage at 18:20 on Friday. Be there!
Deftones – The band are on the form of their lives and if you were at King’s College or read about it in this month’s Hammer, you’ll know how impressive the Sacramento alt-metal legends are right now. With one of the albums of the year under their belt, they’re going to go off in a big way this Saturday evening.
Megadeth – The first UK show for the band since their immense slab of metal Endgame dropped, Dave Mustaine will be bringing his troops to town with the threat of blowing a hole in Donington park. You’d be a clahn to miss it!
Stone Sour – Following on from Slipknot’s unforgettable headline performance last year, Corey Taylor will be holding Download in the palm of his hand once more. Given recent events, your support for these metal heroes is essential.
Lamb Of God – You really don’t need us to write anything in this part, do you? Fuck it, we’ll just say what we want to then: LAMB OF GOD! LAMB OF GOD! LAMB OF GOD! LAMB OF GOD!

jesus, i would only rate 4 of the bands – Deftones, Lamb, Megadeth and napalm death in the whole line up (pats money in pocket, smiles).
