Tribute To Nothing: 50,000 Watts Of Noise!
While retaining the band’s original sound, it also ventures into new territory.
“It’s kinda what we’ve always done, but more melodic,” explains singer / guitarist Sam. “More aggressive, too, and faster. But there’s proper singing in places. Proper screaming too, though!”
Bassist Jim adds: “We’ve had more time to write it, basically.” Over a year, in fact! Says Sam: “We didn’t get a chance to work on it – between touring with both TTN and other bands on our label. We have to actually run the label (Lockjaw Records), too. We had to pick at it when we could. It probably only took about a week of work, but spread out over the year, like about an hour a month!”
To add to their problems, the album was re-mastered three times! Recreating their awesome live sound in the studio is an area in which Tribute To Nothing have struggled in the past. The band also just returned from two shows in the rock ‘n’ roll metropolis of… Malta!
“The only foreign bands that have really played there are Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and us!” beams Sam. “Nobody tours there, so they go mental when somebody does! We’d like to go back, we had a great time!”
