Here’s a thought- why doesn’t anyone know who you are, Underoath? Oh, because you haven’t put out a good record in ages. I bought your latest in the 4 dollar CD rack and it sucked. Wish I’d have saved the money. Wake up and learn how to play real music like A7X. At least they are doing what they want; sure it’s not “metal” anymore but it’s what they are into.

this guy is just a jealous dbag. A7X is way better than underoath. So what is Avenged sevenfold the album wasn’t as “metal” as previous ones. it just shows that shadows has a range of talents with his voice and full on scream isn’t all he can do that’s what makes a true artist. and saying they “need” fake names umm one word Slash so shove it. and they only wore make back during the earlier works and guess what it wasn’t all the time and they grew out of it. and u know what else they changed there sound and still sold an ass load of albums and even with the change there is already hype for an album that isn’t even set to start recording in 2010 so they must be doing something right.

iron maiden possibly the greatest metal and rock band ever were a gimmick? they had a mascot who they displayed on every album? they wore plenty of studded clothing to go with the metal image. Judas preist? Rob halford coming on stage with a motorbike dressed in leather covered in studs and spikes. If a7x are a gimmick so are two of metals greats. Avenegd sevenfold may not be as great as those ebands but they sure as hell are better than fucking underoath!!!

It’s really sad that this was posted and Tim didn’t even say all of this… It’s bullshit that words were put into his mouth and he’s paying for it.

..and WOW people are really into arguing over who is a better band and who is a gimmick or not.. everyone has different taste and there isn’t really a better band.. it’s all opinions.. so it’s a waste of time just arguing over it.

I have no ill-will with Avenged Sevenfold, Escape the Fate or Metallica. Underoath just wrapped a tour with E.T.F. and we’ve all grown to like those dudes as a lot. I don’t know anyone from Avenged or Metallica, but I have no doubt they’re all good people.

Regardless of what it was made to look like, I wasn’t intending to start any issues between bands or arbitrarily bash any artists. Many people don’t like my band. To me, this scene is about positivity and making a difference in the world. I want my kids listening to Thursday talk about equality, or P.O.S. talk about injustice, or Thrice talk about getting involved in your local charity.
