Its obvious why Machine Head (and Slayer and lamb of god soon) mean SFA in the US. Its because they challenge the religious and political establishment and lots of Americans dont like that. They can all come and live here- we all love them!

I worship the ground that Slayer walk on, and I’ll no doubt be issued a metal fatwa for daring to say this, but people should wake up and realise that Jeff and Kerry have made a career out of playing pretty much the same solo on every song. “When in doubt, chuck some wammy bar in there”.

Slipknot… got best live performance…? Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of Slipknot, but come on. There are so many other bands out there that absolutely blow them out of the damn water. Lamb of God for instance. Randy Blythe MURDERS Corey at live performances. Anyone that disagrees with me should go listen to Slipknot’s ‘9.0: Live’ CD, then go watch either ‘Killadelphia’ or ‘Walk With Me In Hell’ from Lamb of God. Very disappointing list.

Those awards were a bunch of bullshit! Slipknot won best riff for Psychosocial, i mean wtf!? They dont even specify which riff it is so if they seriously think that 2/3 note riff for the verses (I DID MY TIME) is the best riff then they have issues. And Vinnie Paul? I mean give the guy credit but based on 2008/9, surely give it to Joey J or Travis Smith. And Repka, that would be AWSOME – Machine Head at Manchester Academy 3 \\nn//

Whether you like the bands that are here or not, you have to admit: all have great talent. Well, except the keyboardist from Bleeding Through. Not to say she isn’t talented, but she’s not amazing. She is hot though. I saw Bleeding Through with Bullet about a year ago and they were pretty sick.

And Suicide Silence didn’t get NEARLY enough credit for how good they are. Being a former Bring Me The Horizon fan, I used to think that all deathcore was utter shit. I listened to Suicide Silence and learned that I was very wrong. They’re now one of my favorite bands.
