Warrant Release Statement About Jani Lane’s Death
Last Thursday 11th of August, Jani Lane (John Kennedy Oswald) the charismatic ex-frontman of glam rockers Warrant was found dead in a Californian motel room.
So far autopsies performed on Lane have proved to be inconclusive but alcohol and prescription drugs were reportedly found in the room. Lane was 47-years-old and left Warrant several times only to return. He finally parted from the band in 2004 but continued to write for himself and for other artists before going on to work with his band Saints of the Underground who recorded and put out an album ‘Love the Sin, Hate the Sinner’ in 2008.
The rest of Warrant posted a statement commenting on the death of their former vocalist. “We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Jani’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Jani was a very important part of our lives for a long time. We will always be incredibly proud of the music we created together.
“He was a true talent and will be missed by all of us.”
