When Mustaine Met Ferrell
Dave Mustaine will be working on the new Will Ferrell movie, ‘Land Of The Lost’.
Dave Mustaine has revealed that he will be contributing new music to the upcoming Will Ferrell movie, ‘Land Of The Lost’. ‘LOTL’ sees Ferrell playing a doctor who is sucked into a space-time vortex that leads him back to pre-historic times where he must escape a world of dinosaurs to get back to our time.
Mustaine says of the collaboration: “I’m going to be working on the new Will Ferrell movie, Land Of The Lost… and going to be putting some music on that. I went and saw the movie last week and it was hilarious. I loved it. I love Will Ferrell, think he’s hilarious anyways. But yeah, we’re getting ready to send some music up to these guys right now and you’re listening to some in the background, and then I’ll be heading up there this week to hopefully finish all this off with their guys. And man, how exciting for me.”
Megadeth are continuing work on their new album with producer Andy Sneap. The as-yet untitled effort is due late summer/early autumn.

How disappointing! I mis-read that headline as “When Mustaine WENT Feral”. I had visions of him sinking his teeth into someones jugular and shaking his ginger mane in triumph, oh well.
Very strange. I just watched “Some Kind Of Monster” again this morning on DVD as I’ve never gotten around to checking out the bonus features on it. There’s a bit of extra footage of the meeting between Lars and Dave and I really think that Dave comes out of it looking good. I’m not quite sure what part of it he objected to in the finished movie.He comes across as reasonable, intelligent and calm. If I ever got asked the question “Metallica or Megadeth?” and it meant the firing squad I’d say Megadeth every time. Mustaine is a fuckin’ genius.
Metallica will always be the better band, even though I am quite a big Megadeth fan too!!
I can’t wait to hear what Dave and co. have come up with for the new album, if it’s half as good as ‘United Abominations’ was it should be great!!

My personal preference is Megadeth really, just love the sound much more i guess, and i also have very high hopes for their next album, loving this whole thrash revival thing that seems to be going on

Metalliga is the image of Megadeth in the “Bovine Eye”. It is true, Megadeth is difficult and needs some taste and cultivation to enjoy. Those who can’t make the effort there is always the plagiarized & diluted version.
Metallica is a great band, but in terms of substance and genius, Megadeth takes the cake. I have no idea what it would be like to have Dave in Metallica still, but there’s not way it would be as satisfying as what Megadeth.
