Without Face Studio Report

“The feeling is very a fresh one,” says co-vocalist Juliette. “It was just yesterday morning when we stepped out of the studio after a long and hard work. I must confess that studio work is the deep point of our lives, but we went home very satisfied with the result. It is the best sound to be made in Hungary, although it was not an easiest thing to carry out, the producer Barnabás Hidasi and the mastering guy Zoltán Regenye did their best and worked night and day to achieve the best sound possible. All the instruments sound very dynamic, and it gets a really great frame by the vocals. We tried to produce an album that is as exciting as possible, so in the studio we invited some other distinguished musicians, like Szabolcs Kövi, who played an unbelievable flute solo in the song ‘In The Garden’, our singing master Adél Völler for sensational additional choir vocals, and the trombone player Zoltán Pál, from the Hungarian black metal band Sear Bliss.

“The lyrics are the habitual deep dark fantasy (middle age rules!) from the world of Lovecraft, Poe and Anne Rice. The new album’s title is ‘Astronomicon’, but it would be just as hard to explain the meaning of it as to describe this material. One thing is sure: it is going to be an unbelievable mix of different styles and ages. The darkest gothica, the most extreme progressiveness and the wildest trash. Is it possible? I feel ‘Astronomicon’ will answer that question. It was a great feeling to do this album, and we hope that we can confront you with the power of Without Face on as many shows as possible! Warning: we attack!!!”

‘Astronomicon’ is released on 1st July thru Elitist / Earache.
